The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Cockhold misses with a takedown attempt - Purcell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Purcell tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Cockhold manages to circle out of the way. Purcell leaves Cockhold with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Cockhold wants to clinch up but Purcell keeps it at a distance.
