Undercard bout

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Saitou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meguru Takayanagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saitou kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is XENO. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Em moves out of range as Aoki strikes.
Em throws a series of punches but Aoki moves out of range.
No joy there for Em, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Em fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Aoki dodges the punch combination from Em.
A telegraphed right hand from Aoki misses the target.
Em throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Aoki counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Aoki is nestled in close to Em, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Aoki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Em's head.
Aoki stops Em from getting back to his feet.
Aoki tries to pass the half guard into mount. Em knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Aoki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Em is looking to escape.

Em turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Aoki off and cradles Em's limp body as Aoki celebrates with his corner.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Welsh creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
