23 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elijah Pitakaka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junior Brandon! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brandon shoots in and bounces Pitakaka off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Brandon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Brandon trying to control the position from guard on top but Pitakaka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brandon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Brandon's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Pitakaka will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brandon trying to control but Pitakaka is working from the bottom. Brandon stops Pitakaka from standing up. Brandon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Pitakaka keeping moving, preventing Brandon from controlling successfully. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Pitakaka lands a high kick!
Brandon takes a shot right to the bread basket. Pitakaka throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Brandon. Brandon blocks a head kick by Pitakaka.
Pitakaka lands a nice leg kick that just misses Brandon's sensitive parts. Elijah Pitakaka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Brandon tries to shoot in for a takedown. Brandon might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pitakaka haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Pitakaka is looking to reverse the position. Brandon is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Pitakaka is trying to escape and Brandon transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Pitakaka is forced to tap! Nice work there by Brandon! Very nice indeed!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danky shoots for a takedown but Maellard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Maellard swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Danky scores with a jab to the head.
Maellard takes a swing at Danky's ribcage but misses. Maellard looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Danky uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Maellard. Danky lands a glancing blow to the side of Maellard's head. Maellard misses with a body shot.

and Maellard cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Danky dives in and grabs Maellard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Maellard pushes down on Danky's head and hops out. Danky swings for the body but Maellard moves out of range.

Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Danky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Maellard is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Danky is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Danky is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Danky is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Maellard sees it coming and defends easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maellard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Danky is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maellard kicks Danky off and gets back to his feet. Nice defenses there by Maellard. Danky shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maellard as he avoids it easily. Maellard has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Danky. Danky closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Maellard did well to prevent Danky getting side control. Maellard kicks Danky off and gets back to his feet. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maellard misses with a wild combination.
Danky is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Maellard with a body shot. Danky has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Maellard avoids the body shot from Danky.

Pops Maellard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dom Danky. Danky misses with a leg kick. Danky drives through with a takedown into Maellard's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Danky drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Maellard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Danky has Maellard in his guard.

Dom Danky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Danky shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Maellard defends it nicely. Maellard misses with a low kick. Danky closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maellard to the mat! Maellard manages to get full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Danky landing with the ground and pound. Maellard is pulling down on Danky's head. It's preventing any offense from Danky, at least for the moment. Maellard working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Danky. Danky throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maellard works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Maellard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Danky gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Danky lands a couple of elbows.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steroidi Jr fakes the leg kick and cracks Chandler in the body. Steroidi Jr wants to slow Chandler down by chopping away at his legs. Chandler was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Chandler steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Steroidi Jr. Steroidi Jr scoring well with a low kick there.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Chandler checks a leg kick. Steroidi Jr throws the left hand but Chandler avoids the punch easily. Marcus Chandler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steroidi Jr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chandler circles away quickly and effectively. Steroidi Jr throws a jab when Chandler was well out of range. Steroidi Jr clinches up with Chandler and pushes him back against the cage. Chandler fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
I was talking to Chandler's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Chandler breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Chandler throws a leg kick but Steroidi Jr moved away. Chandler takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Chandler is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Chandler throws a leg kick and Steroidi Jr counters with a nice body kick. Chandler sees it coming and avoids it easily. Chandler ducks under a wild hook from Steroidi Jr. Chandler pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Chandler scores with a sloppy right hand. Steroidi Jr drops his hands momentarily and Chandler takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Chandler bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Chandler fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Steroidi Jr. Steroidi Jr checks the leg kick. Steroidi Jr tests Chandler's chin there with a solid looking shot. Chandler throws a low kick, looking for Steroidi Jr's leg but Steroidi Jr calmly moves out of range. Steroidi Jr tries to clinch but Chandler is having none of it. Chandler misses with a body kick. Steroidi Jr tries a quick counter leg kick but Chandler is wise to it. Chandler throws a looping overhand right but Steroidi Jr ducks down to avoid it. Steroidi Jr misses with a hook. Robinson throws an overhand right that lands on Pencil's shoulder, as Pencil tries to avoid the shot. Pencil appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Robinson misses with a straight left. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pencil, right into the meat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pencil throws a leg kick but Robinson checks it. Robinson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Robinson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Robinson throws a lazy head kick and Pencil holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Robinson misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pencil.
Robinson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pencil avoids it. Pencil on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Allen Robinson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Pencil tries to circle away but Robinson has him pinned against the cage. Pencil scores with a nice hook to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Allen Robinson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Robinson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
