Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Balka Islander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hendricks comes to the cage accompanied by Wheelz of Steel by Outkast. The crowd seem to be enjoying Islander's choice of entrance music: We will rock you. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hendricks closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Hendricks has an Americana. Islander didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hendricks is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hendricks hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mickey Hendricks! Mickey Hendricks tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool. The defeated Balka Islander had this to say: 'I have chosen to retire from mma. Going back to the island life. Thank you.'.

Von Erich lands a nice hook to Cross's body. Cross takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Von Erich looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cross goes for a double leg but Von Erich avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Von Erich continues to drive forward. Von Erich walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Cross checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Cross tries to clinch up but Von Erich circles away and keeps his distance. He's got his arms around Peez's waist but Peez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kannberg off to one side. Galvao has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
