The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A nice leg kick lands there from Johnson.
Johnson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Johnson. Qasi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Qasi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

and Qasi counters with a nice uppercut.
Qasi looks to land a right hand but Johnson moved out of range.
Qasi connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Johnson, right into the meat.
Qasi shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Qasi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Qasi is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Qasi chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Johnson can pounce on him.

Johnson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Qasi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard.

Qasi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Johnson wants to stand and escape but Qasi is having none of it.

Qasi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Qasi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Qasi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A close third round but Nick Johnson just about did enough to take it.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Qasi takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Qasi misses with an uppercut.
A telegraphed right hand from Qasi misses the target.
A bone on bone clash there as Johnson blocks the leg kick.
Johnson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Johnson misses with a straight right.
Qasi was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Qasi's jab looks to have found its range, popping Johnson under the eye.
Qasi misses with a body shot
and Johnson counters with a good low kick that Qasi was not able to check.
Qasi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Johnson dips to his left and cracks Qasi with an uppercut!
Qasi throws a poor cross that misses
and Johnson makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Johnson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Qasi tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Qasi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Qasi off to one side.
Nice uppercut there from Johnson.
Qasi throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Johnson is nestled in close to Qasi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Johnson drops an elbow to the side of Qasi's head.
Johnson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Qasi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Qasi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Qasi.

Johnson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Qasi has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Johnson is looking to defend but Qasi has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Johnson! Qasi pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Johnson taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 4, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Azar Qasi!

After winning the bout, Azar Qasi thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
