The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Nowal throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease. Nowal has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Smith is landing a low percentage of strikes. Smith lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Butch Nowal has been cut. Smith scores with a nice head shot. Nowal takes a kick to the side of the head. A head kick misses from Smith. Smith throws a head kick but Nowal moves out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Griffith. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oalognov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Griffith is controlling him well. Griffith happy to just control the position for now. Griffith trying to control the action but Oalognov is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oalognov is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Griffith has just dragged him back down to the mat. Griffith tries to move into full mount but can't pass Oalognov's legs. That was a close round but I would say that Robert Griffith will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Overeem throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Shelton works the jab nicely. Overeem takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Overeem misses with an uppercut
and Shelton counters with a big right hand! Oh Overeem is in trouble here! Shelton follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
