The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Sandusky counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lee won't be happy with that.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Lee tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sandusky wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Sandusky tries to advance to mount but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sandusky wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Sandusky decides to stand back up. Sandusky steps back and let's Lee get back to his feet.

Lee shoots in for a takedown but Sandusky shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

My spies in Cozad MMA Montreal inform me that Sandusky has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

It looked like Lee was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Sandusky ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sandusky no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Lee is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sandusky sees it coming and defends easily.

Sandusky makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Sandusky looks for the body kick but Lee saw that one coming.

Sandusky clinches up with Lee and pushes him back against the cage.

Lee looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Sandusky changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lee fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Lee counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bill Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Sandusky.
Lee will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Lee tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sandusky swivels and escapes.
Sandusky throws a body punch but Lee moves out of range.
A quick step to the side and Lee tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

The fight stays on the outside here - Lee looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sandusky moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Sandusky counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Sandusky feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lee throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sandusky escapes and throws Lee's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Sandusky is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Lee looks calm but he's in trouble here. Sandusky gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Lee is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Sandusky lets go of the hold and Lee can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Munakas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jackson Jr has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Munakas has managed to get both his arms back between Jackson Jr's legs - danger averted.

Jackson Jr is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Munakas rolls with it to try and escape but Jackson Jr cranks on the arm and Munakas is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Vladik Fedotov struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.
