Martinez told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Martinez tries to clinch up but Adams pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Martinez to the mat! Martinez covers up and Adams unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a big shot that misses.
Silva moves out of range of the strikes.
Good shot there by Denke.
Denke scores with a decent looking hook.
Silva throws a hook to the side of Denke's head but Denke sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Denke misses with a straight right.
Denke swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Denke takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Denke swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Silva.
Nice uppercut lands for Silva. That snapped Denke's head back.
A combination from Silva does no damage.
Denke checks a leg kick nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva moves out of range of the strikes.

Silva drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Silva passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Silva misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Denke tries to buck Silva off but Silva is having none of it.

Silva creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Silva is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Denke looks calm but he's in trouble here. Silva gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Denke is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Silva lets go of the hold and Denke can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Nice sprawl there from Sarkisyan as Pooh shoots in.
Pooh throws a body punch but Sarkisyan moves out of range.
Pooh takes one on the button.
Sarkisyan cracks Pooh with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Pooh tries to clinch but Sarkisyan moves out of range.
Sarkisyan swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Sarkisyan moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Winnie Pooh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pooh drives through and clinches with Sarkisyan against the cage.

Pooh shoots in but Sarkisyan avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Sarkisyan moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sarkisyan lands a leg kick that knocks Pooh off balance momentarily.
Pooh on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Sarkisyan lands a nice shot to the body.
Pooh with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sarkisyan to score with a decent uppercut.

Sarkisyan wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Pooh seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Pooh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sarkisyan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sarkisyan fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Pooh on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Sarkisyan connects with a body shot.

Pooh clinches.
Pooh tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sarkisyan just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Winnie Pooh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sarkisyan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sarkisyan misses the shot to the body.
Sarkisyan scoring well with a low kick there.
Aharon Sarkisyan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sarkisyan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Pooh drives through and clinches with Sarkisyan against the cage.
Pooh tries to pull guard but Sarkisyan forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Sarkisyan is leaning against Pooh and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
A body shot lands from Sarkisyan.
Pooh doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Sarkisyan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Pooh backwards.
A nice right hand lands inside from Sarkisyan.
Pooh is breathing heavily.
Sarkisyan lands with a short shot to the head.
Pooh swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Still in the clinch, Sarkisyan scores with a nice short uppercut.
Oh Pooh is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pooh changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sarkisyan fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Pooh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sarkisyan as he avoids it easily.
Sarkisyan steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Pooh.
Pooh seems to have got his legs back now.

Sarkisyan lands a big uppercut and Pooh crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Pooh looks OK. Sarkisyan waves Pooh back to his feet!
Pooh wants to clinch.
Pooh takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sarkisyan throws a monster overhand right that drops Pooh! Sarkisyan follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aharon Sarkisyan! Aharon Sarkisyan retains his lightweight title!
