The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Smith wants to stand up but Phillips has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Phillips is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Phillips wants to control the action here but instead Smith manages to pass to full mount!
Smith lands a nice shot to the head.
Phillips is in a horrible position here. Smith smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Phillips's guard.
