Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pat Calas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and M J Shain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calas comes to the cage accompanied by Sonata Arctica - Fade to Black. Shain has chosen Thunderstruck as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that M J Shain was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calas wants to clinch up but Shain keeps it at a distance.
Calas closes the distance and clinches up with Shain, looking for a takedown. Calas pushes Shain against the cage but Shain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jack tries to close the distance and clinch up but Crack swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Crack keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jack misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Crack.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Crack checks a leg kick.

Jack gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crack can't do much from the bottom here.
Crack manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Jack should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Still in half guard, Crack seems content to control.
Crack wants to free his trapped foot but Jack is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Crack will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jack can do anything to dispel that myth.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Crack throws a head kick that misses.

Crack bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Jack throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Crack lands with a kick to the temple. Jack shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Happy Jack has been cut.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Crack! Jack is out on his feet! Crack rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Jack is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Jack is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

o hAodha throws a sloppy head kick and McDonald moves out of range easily.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! o hAodha crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from McDonald - the referee stops the clock and o hAodha gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says McDonald. o hAodha manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

McDonald changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. o hAodha looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Power is stalling here. Barker is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Power seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Barker has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
