The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eaton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Eaton tries to pass to full mount but Specter defends it. Specter looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Specter is looking for a sweep. Eaton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Specter is trying to maintain the position but Eaton is very close to passing his half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Eaton lands a nice short elbow. Eaton is thwarting Specter's attempts to control the position. Eaton seems to be working for a kimura but Specter defends the submission attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eaton is trying to work for a kimura but Specter is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Specter wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Specter is staying active underneath Eaton, who seems content to just control the action from this position. That's four minutes gone in the round. Eaton is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Specter gets his way!

Eaton remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Specter will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Eaton prevents Specter from getting a body triangle. Eaton is working hard here to advance position. Specter missing with strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Eaton trying to control the hands but Specter won't let him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eaton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Specter's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eaton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Specter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Eaton lands with a punch from half guard. Eaton is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Specter is concentrating on defense, preventing Eaton from advancing position. Specter wants to control but Eaton is keeping busy.

Specter works his way to full guard. Good work. Specter has momentary wrist control but Eaton slips an elbow through the middle. Eaton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Specter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Eaton has managed to get both his arms back between Specter's legs - danger averted. Specter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Eaton is aware though and is defending well. I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Ballinger is rocked! Ballinger has his takedown stuffed and Sabah Nur counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Oh Ballinger is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ballinger is breathing heavily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sabah Nur just misses with a punch to the body.
Ballinger seems to have got his legs back now. A telegraphed right hand from Ballinger misses the target. Nice shot lands for Ballinger. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ballinger's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sabah Nur connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ballinger scrambles back to his feet. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ballinger crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Sabah Nur - the referee stops the clock and Ballinger gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Sabah Nur. Ballinger manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. An inside leg kick lands from Sabah Nur. Ballinger takes a body punch but keeps moving. Sabah Nur moves out of range of the strikes. Sabah Nur let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Ballinger takes a shot right to the bread basket. Ballinger throws a jab but it's blocked by Sabah Nur. Ballinger misses with a lunging right hand

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hill scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Payakaroon looks winded! Payakaroon misses the jab. Payakaroon on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Jab by Hill. Payakaroon misses with a combination
and Hill counters with an inside leg kick. Hill with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hill. Payakaroon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A solid body kick from Hill. A cross from Hill lands. Payakaroon moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hill uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Hill misses the shot to the body. Samart Payakaroon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Payakaroon lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Hill has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Hill and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Hill lands a leg kick that knocks Payakaroon off balance momentarily. Hill throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Hill throws a wild body kick that Payakaroon sees coming a mile off. Hill scores with a hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice shot by Hill. Hill misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Hill. Hill lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Payakaroon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hill lands a big head kick that sends Payakaroon tumbling to the mat! Hill takes a step backwards and waves Payakaroon back to his feet - he wants the finish!

and Hill counters with a huge right that knocks Payakaroon out cold! Hill is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jericho Hill! During a confident post fight interview, Jericho Hill thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. The defeated Samart Payakaroon had this to say: 'It's been a great tournament. I have no regrets other than the regret I have in informing my opponent that his mom is waiting for me in the locker room! OH YEA BABY!!'.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carroll, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Thrul takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Thrul misses with a looping left. Larry moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Larry uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Thrul. Thrul ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Thrul jabs Larry to the body, keeping him at a distance. Lethal Larry is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Larry pivots, looking for a leg kick but Thrul is out of range and Larry settles back down. Lethal Larry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Aznar Thrul is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Thrul feints and as Larry raises his hands in defense, Thrul changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Thrul tries to free his leg and advance position but Larry is retaining full guard. Thrul slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Thrul trying to control the position from guard on top but Larry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Larry being controlled here, momentarily. Aznar Thrul has got the better of the ground game so far. Larry looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thrul is one step ahead there.

And that's the end of the fight! Aznar Thrul comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Thrul has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Rodney Garcia. Well Garcia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
