The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Styles slaps away a takedown attempt from Avalon, before circling back to the center of the mat. Avalon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Styles defends it nicely. Avalon shoots in for a takedown but Styles shows good takedown defense. Styles with the counter takedown but Avalon avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bjarni Avalon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Avalon shoots in but no luck this time. Styles with the counter takedown but Avalon avoids it easily. Styles keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Styles lands a few punches from side control. We've been informed that Styles has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Avalon is trying to get back to his feet. Styles is looking to take a break and control but Avalon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Styles throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Styles cracks Avalon with a big elbow. Styles working the ground and pound. Styles tries to score with some ground and pound. Avalon controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Styles has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Styles scores with punches from side control. Avalon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Styles asserts his dominance and retains side control. Avalon parries the strikes from Styles easily there. Styles is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Avalon to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Styles lands an elbow. An elbow from Styles crashes against the mat.
Styles looks up at the clock and then as Avalon takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Styles smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Avalon is rocked! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Avalon fails with the takedown and Styles goes for a counter takedown and lands it with interest - it's knocked his opponent senseless! It looks like Styles 's shoulder did the damage as the two fighters hit the mat.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moreno lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Vardy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vardy wants it to stay on the feet. Moreno misses with a wild body shot. Moreno throws a body shot but no joy. Vardy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Moreno manages to avoid it. Vardy scores with a nice strike. Moreno fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vardy manages to avoid it. Vardy's coach down at Fight Factory was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Vardy's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vardy breaks the clinch.
Vardy lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Moreno can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Vardy and Moreno drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Vardy.

Burgundy throws an overhand right that lands on Sunshine's shoulder, as Sunshine tries to avoid the shot. Sunshine connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Burgundy looks to land a left hand but Sunshine moved out of range nicely. Burgundy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Sunshine looks to throw the jab but Burgundy is out of range. Sunshine throws out a loose jab but Burgundy uses good head movement to avoid it. Sunshine looks to land a left hand but Burgundy moved out of range nicely. Burgundy jabbing away but nothing is landing. Burgundy swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sunshine counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A jab from Sunshine finds it's way through Burgundy's defenses. Sunshine lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Burgundy circles away quickly and effectively. Burgundy closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Sloppy strikes from Burgundy. Those never looked like landing. Sunshine is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Burgundy had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Sunshine throws a sloppy head kick and Burgundy moves out of range easily. Burgundy scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Sunshine ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Burgundy moves away. Burgundy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sunshine moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Donk. Sunshine catches Burgundy right on the button with a cross. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sunshine dips to his left and cracks Burgundy with an uppercut! Sunshine misses with a two punch combination.
Sunshine throws the left hand but Burgundy avoids the punch easily. Sunshine displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Burgundy throws out the jab. Burgundy misses with a series of wild punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sunshine. Burgundy does a little dance to reset his feet. Burgundy slips a jab from Sunshine. Peter Sunshine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Burgundy misses with a lunging right hand
and Sunshine counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Burgundy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sunshine. Burgundy throws a hook to the side of Sunshine's head but Sunshine sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Sunshine attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Sunshine sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Burgundy throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Sunshine thinks about the counter body kick. Burgundy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Burgundy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Burgundy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sunshine. Burgundy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sunshine momentarily.
Burgundy cracks Sunshine with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Burgundy has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Sunshine to stand back up!
Sunshine is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sunshine misses with an uppercut. Burgundy saw that one coming. Sunshine is still on wobbly legs! Can Burgundy finish him? Burgundy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sunshine. Burgundy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sunshine. Burgundy fakes the body blow, causing Sunshine to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Sunshine goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
