The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oezid fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dawson manages to avoid it.
Dawson throws out a leg kick but Oezid moves out of range and Dawson only half commits.
Oezid lands a nice shot to the body.
Dawson throws a sloppy head kick and Oezid moves out of range easily.

and Oezid counters with a nice body shot.
Oezid looks to score with a jab to the body but Dawson is just out of range.
Dawson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Dawson's coach down at Barbell Brigade - $1000 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Dawson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Dawson throws a sloppy head kick and Oezid moves out of range easily.

That kick from Dawson tenderised Oezid's leg. Oezid is trying to keep his angry face on.
Dawson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Oezid.
Whack! Dawson lands a heavy head kick that drops Oezid. The ref tackles Dawson to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Oezid was done.

Powers takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Kalervo cracks Powers with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Kalervo has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Powers to stand back up!
Oh Powers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kalervo cracks Powers with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Powers tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Kalervo pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Powers is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Out connects with a nice short shot to Batista's temple.
