1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Carlsen! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Carlsen.
Carlsen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Away. Steve Carlsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Away stalks Carlsen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Carlsen's face. Carlsen staggers backwards, shaken. Carlsen feints a jab promting Away to slip. Carlsen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Away slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Carlsen looks to land a combination but Away avoids it well. Carlsen slips a jab from Away. Carlsen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Away. Away is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Carlsen. Carlsen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Away throws out the jab. Away throws a series of punches but Carlsen moves out of range. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Away clobbers Carlsen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Carlsen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Away has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Carlsen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carlsen looks to throw the jab but Away is out of range. Carlsen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Carlsen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Away sees it coming and avoids it easily. Jab from Away. Carlsen throws a leg kick but Away checks it. Carlsen has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Carlsen throws a head kick but Away moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlsen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Carlsen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Away seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Carlsen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Carlsen throws a head kick that misses. It looked like Away wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Carlsen throws a push kick but Away slaps the foot to one side. Away connects with a nice looking jab.
Away throws a jab when Carlsen was well out of range. Some wild striking there from Carlsen.
Carlsen looks winded! Good shot there by Away. Carlsen avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Away takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Carlsen misses with a head kick.
Away throws a lazy right hand but Carlsen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Away cracks Carlsen with a good jab. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A big left from Away misses. Nice body punch from Away. Away blocks a head kick by Carlsen.
Carlsen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlsen throws a nice looking combination but Away bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Away connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Carlsen momentarily.
Away ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Carlsen misses with the combination.
Away tries to bum rush Carlsen with a series of wild strikes but Carlsen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Away bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Carlsen is rocked! Away throws a shot from downtown. Carlsen moves away and avoids it. Carlsen is still on wobbly legs! Can Away finish him? Away misses with a hook. Carlsen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Away moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Away swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Carlsen misses with a series of wild punches.
Carlsen seems to have recovered his senses. Carlsen throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Away counters with a nice uppercut. Away is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Away connects with a good right hand that stumbles Carlsen. Carlsen circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Carlsen moves out of range as Away strikes. Carlsen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Away. As Away backs off Carlsen throws a huge counter combo but Away manages to avoid it all. Carlsen misses with a body punch
and Away counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Carlsen thinking. Carlsen ducks under a wild hook from Away. Away connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Away getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Away just misses with a punch to the body.

Carlsen ducks under a wild hook from Away. It seemed like Carlsen was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. A big left from Away misses. Carlsen takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Away connects with a nice looking jab.
Away lands an overhand right. Carlsen displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Carlsen moves out of range as Away strikes. Carlsen lands with a kick to the temple. Away shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A big right from Away misses. Carlsen swinging wildly here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carlsen falls off balance throwing a combination
and Away counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Carlsen thinking. Away lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Away avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Away fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Carlsen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Away connects with a nice looking jab.
Away stuns Carlsen with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Away throws a looping overhand right but Carlsen ducks down to avoid it. Carlsen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A head kick misses from Carlsen. Away smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Away dodges the punch combination from Carlsen.
A little feinted left hand from Away on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Away feints with a jab and clips Carlsen right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Carlsen is sent crashing into the canvas and Away leaps in for the kill! Carlsen tries to get to his feet but Away is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Carlsen is in need of a savior and steps in!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Davit. Doodle throws a right hand that Davit ducks under and follows up with a left that Davit also avoids with ease. Davit is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Davit doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Doodle counter with a right hand.
It looks like Davit Davit has been cut. Doodle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Davit feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Davit looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Davit cracks Doodle with a solid left hand. Davit lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Doodle is trying to control the position but Davit postures up. Davit is in close to Doodle's body, working some short punches and elbows. Doodle is trying to control the position but Davit postures up. Doodle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Davit on the ground. Davit is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Doodle wants to stand up but Davit is controlling him. Davit lands a couple of elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davit Davit decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Hunt misses with a straight right. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mayweather! But no joy. Mayweather throws a body punch but Hunt moves out of range. Hunt stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Mayweather keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Ellis's coach down at Young Achievers (All Elite Coach) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ellis's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Ellis. Carico is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ellis lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Carico backwards. Ellis misses with a body punch.

Rizzo darts in and out, connecting with a jab. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rizzo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Rizzo stalks Souza and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Souza's face. Souza staggers backwards, shaken. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Von Mises ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brown moves away. Brown shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Von Mises napping and manages to drive through into side control! Brown grinds an elbow into Von Mises's temple. Brown scoring with punches from side control. Von Mises really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
