Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fredrick Glass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Grim Deathgrip! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deathgrip scores with a jab to the body. Glass misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Fredrick Glass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Deathgrip throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Glass misses with a two punch combination.
No joy there for Deathgrip, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Deathgrip keeps the fight on the outside. Deathgrip throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Deathgrip fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Deathgrip throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Glass stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Deathgrip closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Deathgrip lands an uppercut. Deathgrip working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A short uppercut from Deathgrip. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Deathgrip pushes Glass back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. A bit of stalling here from Deathgrip.
Deathgrip's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Deathgrip receives a warning from the referee for stalling. Deathgrip lands on the inside with an uppercut. Deathgrip pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Glass tries to clinch up but Deathgrip circles away and keeps his distance. A countering left hand to the body from Deathgrip misses. Glass could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Deathgrip fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Deathgrip fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Deathgrip is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Glass rather than just go for the knockout. Deathgrip darts in and clinches Glass up against the cage. A nice glancing elbow lands by Deathgrip. Deathgrip can't find room to land a body shot as Glass controls the action.
Glass manages to pull guard.
Glass is trying to control the position but Deathgrip postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Glass throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
This has been an exciting period of action! Deathgrip throws a strike but Glass rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Glass throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Deathgrip works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Glass is fighting to break Deathgrip's control of his arms but Deathgrip is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Glass won't allow Deathgrip to sweep him here. Glass not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Glass stopping the sweep attempt from Deathgrip.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Glass wants to control from the top but Deathgrip keeps moving. Deathgrip wants to control but Glass passes easily into half guard.
Deathgrip wants to improve his position but Glass is controlling well.
Glass slows the pace down in half guard. Ground and pound from Glass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Deathgrip tries to get to full guard but Glass has control of the leg. Glass trying to mount his opponent but Deathgrip defends it. Deathgrip really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Glass. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Glass passes to full mount! Glass has hold of Deathgrip's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Deathgrip manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Glass controlling the pace for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grim Deathgrip dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Deathgrip wants to land a leg kick but Glass is out of range. Glass is looking to counter the offense by Deathgrip and move into the clinch. Deathgrip cracks Glass with a right hand to the side of the head. Glass doesn't manage to clinch there - Deathgrip circles away.
Deathgrip instigates a clinch. Deathgrip lands on the inside with an uppercut. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Deathgrip dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Deathgrip comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Fredrick Glass has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glass throws a punch but it's blocked by Deathgrip. Deathgrip's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Deathgrip scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Deathgrip has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deathgrip tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Glass is able to avoid easily. Glass on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Glass shoots in for a takedown but Deathgrip shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Deathgrip scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Glass goes for a double leg but Deathgrip avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Deathgrip continues to drive forward. It seemed like Deathgrip was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Deathgrip connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Glass's hands. Glass tries to score a power double leg takedown but Deathgrip sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Glass somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fredrick Glass. That's going to take a lot out of him. Glass shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Deathgrip but Deathgrip pushes him off and we're back to square one. Deathgrip scores with a crisp jab that stopped Glass in his tracks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deathgrip looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Deathgrip jabs Glass to the body, keeping him at a distance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Deathgrip scores with a sloppy right hand. Glass should have avoided that one. Glass gets a takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Glass thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Deathgrip's head. Glass controlling the action here. Deathgrip trying to hold on to Glass's head to control him but Glass postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deathgrip tries to kick Glass off but Glass keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Glass throwing shots but Deathgrip is blocking nicely. Glass decides to stand up. Glass takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Glass tries to clinch but fails miserably and Deathgrip cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Fredrick Glass is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nice cross by Deathgrip.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Glass is trying hard to land a takedown here. Deathgrip sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Deathgrip dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Glass tries for a takedown but Deathgrip sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Deathgrip is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Glass tries for a takedown but Deathgrip circles away easily and Deathgrip counters with a stiff right hand. Deathgrip with a jab. Deathgrip digs a good body shot into Glass's ribs. Deathgrip takes the fight into the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Deathgrip escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Deathgrip lands with a nice combination. Glass backs away looking to recover. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grim Deathgrip showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Fredrick Glass's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The fight moves into the clinch position. Deathgrip's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Deathgrip lands a jab. Deathgrip has Glass up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Deathgrip lands a shoulder strike. Glass is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Glass can't get the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Glass struggles to land a body shot inside as Deathgrip controls his hands.
Deathgrip lands a right hand that snaps the head of Glass backwards. Deathgrip breaks the clinch.
Deathgrip lands a left and a right that send Glass crashing to the mat, dazed. Deathgrip thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Glass is rocked! Grim Deathgrip is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Deathgrip cracks Glass with a good jab. Oh Glass is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Glass shoots in looking for a takedown but Deathgrip manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Glass's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Deathgrip cracks Glass with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Glass tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Deathgrip pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Glass is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
