Aldo comes to the cage accompanied by Pregador Luo - Já Posso Suportar. James Darmody told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldo connects with a body shot that sends Darmody's belly button to the back. Darmody on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. A left lands for Aldo. Darmody scores with a hook. Darmody misses with a double jab
and Aldo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Aldo connects with a solid leg kick. Decent striking displayed by Darmody there. Darmody looks for the body kick but Aldo saw that one coming. Aldo connects with a leg kick. Darmody looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Aldo takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Aldo dodges the punch combination from Darmody.
James Darmody seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aldo takes the fight into the clinch. Aldo working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Aldo throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Darmody blocks it with crossed arms. Aldo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Darmody has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Darmody breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Darmody jabbing away but nothing is landing. No joy there for Darmody, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in the clinch, Aldo scores with a nice short uppercut. Aldo lands on the inside with an uppercut. Darmody is trying to force a seperation but Aldo has the dominant position. Aldo tries to land knees in the clinch but Darmody avoids the damage to the body. Aldo prevents Darmody from breaking the clinch. Aldo is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Darmody has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Aldo seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Darmody can turn it around. Aldo landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Aldo misses with some punches.

James Darmody was interviewed post fight and said 'I blame God for this loss. He wasn't with me tonight, he usually is, but he must be mad at me or something, I dunno'.

It looks like Al Caholic has been cut. Caholic displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chocolate throws out the jab. Caholic raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Chocolate has Caholic up against the cage in a clinch.

Caholic has Chocolate pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Chocolate manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Chocolate tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Caholic's elbow. Caholic has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Chocolate is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Chocolate prevents a takedown attempt there.

Our spies down at at The Iron Palace inform us that Caholic has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Chocolate postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Caholic looking for a guillotine here but Chocolate defends easily.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chocolate works his way back into a safe position though. Chocolate is pushing down on Caholic's leg trying to pass to half guard. He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Chocolate looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Caholic can't hide his disappointment, as Chocolate celebrates the victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pouko scores with the left hand. Benderson knows he should have avoided that one. Jab, jab by Pouko - just one landing. Pouko throws a body punch but Benderson moves out of range. Pouko has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pouko there as he acknowledges the shot. Benderson throws out a loose jab but Pouko uses good head movement to avoid it. Pouko drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Benderson defends it well. Pouko dodges the punch combination from Benderson.
Pouko closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Benderson wants to control but Pouko postures up. Pouko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Benderson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pouko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Benderson is working hard here to advance position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pouko is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Benderson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. You can see the frustration on Benderson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Pouko taking a breather here. Benderson has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Pouko trying to control the position but Benderson is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Benderson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Benderson is working to get back to half guard.

Pouko content just to control the position here. Pouko wants to control the pace but Benderson is squirming around nicely.

Wang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cuida throws a hook to the side of Wang's head but Wang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Wang was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Cuida is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wang sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. As Cuida tries to get set, Wang tries to push him back and clinch up but Cuida manages to avoid the attempt. Cuida blocks a low kick nicely. Nice defenses there by Wang. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cuida steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wang. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Cuida! But no joy. Wang moves forwards but Cuida connects with a nice, crisp jab. Wang is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Cuida works over Wang's head and body with a nice combination. Wang misses with a two punch combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wang walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Cuida rushes Wang and presses him up against the cage. Wang taking a breather. Wang doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Wang is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cuida is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wang to the mat. Wang regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Wang working for a triangle but Cuida defends it easily.

Cuida gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cuida trying to control the position from guard on top but Wang is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cuida is looking to advance position but Wang has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! A nice elbow there by Wang. Cuida tries to hold on but Wang pushes him away. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cuida manages to control the position for a moment. Cuida is desperately trying to improve his position but Wang has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gray Cuida dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Wang drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Cuida scores with a decent looking hook. No luck for Cuida with that takedown attempt. Nice straight punches there by Cuida. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cuida. Wang stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wang wants it to stay on the feet. Wang has his takedown stuffed and Cuida counters with a nice uppercut. Cuida has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Wang clobbers Cuida with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No luck with that takedown attempt from Cuida. Wang is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Long Wang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gray Cuida. Cuida swings widly with a right hand

Wang working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cuida doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cuida manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Wang lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Cuida wants to sweep here but Wang controlling him for the moment.

No luck so far. Wang is fighting to break Cuida's control of his arms but Cuida is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Long Wang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cuida is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. And that's the end of the fight! Gray Cuida comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cuida has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
