2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antero Jose Carneiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ramazan Magomedov! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carneiro tries to sprawl but Magomedov drives through with a takedown into half guard. Carneiro is trying to stand up here but Magomedov is controlling him well. Magomedov wants to pass the guard but Carneiro is defending well. Carneiro has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Magomedov is on him like a limpet, forcing Carneiro back against the cage. Magomedov is pressed up against the cage. Carneiro has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Magomedov down to the mat. Magomedov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Magomedov looks to score with a jab to the body but Carneiro is just out of range. Carneiro changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Magomedov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carneiro tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Magomedov is in Carneiro's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carneiro kicks Magomedov off and gets to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Magomedov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Carneiro defends it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Magomedov. Carneiro manages to work his way to half guard, despite Magomedov's best efforts. Magomedov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carneiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Carneiro looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Carneiro wants to get back to full guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Magomedov in particular looking to stall. Magomedov is thwarting Carneiro's attempts to control the position.

Carneiro looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carneiro is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Magomedov is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Carneiro is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Magomedov is tapping! Great win for Carneiro!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Veljanovski scores with a takedown into Bin Zayed's guard. Veljanovski's corner is telling him to maintain position. Bin Zayed avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Veljanovski has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Veljanovski with a nice head shot there. Veljanovski is looking to stand up but Bin Zayed won't let him. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bin Zayed is on top in guard.
Bin Zayed trying to control the position from guard on top but Veljanovski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bin Zayed controlling from the top position. Veljanovski controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Veljanovski wants to get back to his feet but Bin Zayed is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Veljanovski is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Veljanovski wants to sweep but no luck. Veljanovski lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Veljanovski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bin Zayed on the ground. Bin Zayed scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Veljanovski misses the shot to the body. A momentary lapse in concentration from Bin Zayed enables Veljanovski to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bin Zayed manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Bin Zayed is trying to control the position but Veljanovski postures up. Veljanovski trying to control the position from guard on top but Bin Zayed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Veljanovski seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bin Zayed wants to sweep but no luck.

Bin Zayed keeping full guard, as Veljanovski tries to pass. Veljanovski has gone for a leg lock! Bin Zayed slips out almost immediately though and dives into Veljanovski's guard. Bin Zayed won't allow Veljanovski to get back to his feet. Bin Zayed loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Veljanovski on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Veljanovski tries to get out of the position. Veljanovski managing to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Veljanovski is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. No luck for Bin Zayed with that takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Veljanovski closes the distance and pushes Bin Zayed back into the cage. Bin Zayed tries to break free but Veljanovski pushes him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Maro Veljanovski will probably get the nod. That's time! Veljanovski's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Veljanovski changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bin Zayed looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bin Zayed explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Veljanovski throws a sloppy head kick and Bin Zayed moves out of range easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Veljanovski is defended easily by Bin Zayed. Bin Zayed shoots in but no luck this time. Veljanovski drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Veljanovski stands up. Bin Zayed gets caught flat footed, as Veljanovski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Bin Zayed has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Veljanovski has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bin Zayed tries to stall but Veljanovski uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Bin Zayed has Veljanovski pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Veljanovski manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Bin Zayed tries to pull guard but Veljanovski holds him up against the cage and eventually Bin Zayed drops back down to his feet.
Maro Veljanovski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Muhhamad Bin Zayed. Veljanovski taking a breather. Bin Zayed is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Veljanovski turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Veljanovski manages to end up in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Veljanovski is trying to get an arm triangle but Bin Zayed is defending well. Bin Zayed is letting Veljanovski control him for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Veljanovski with the ground and pound but Bin Zayed regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Veljanovski stalling. Bin Zayed is pressing down on Veljanovski's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Veljanovski tries to free his leg and advance position but Bin Zayed is retaining full guard. Veljanovski trying to move into half guard but instead Bin Zayed has managed to sweep! Bin Zayed preventing the sweep. Veljanovski has control of Bin Zayed's left arm, preventing Bin Zayed from doing any damage. Bin Zayed working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bin Zayed trying to control but Veljanovski is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Veljanovski throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Veljanovski has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Bin Zayed has passed into side control.
Bin Zayed has control of an arm but Veljanovski manages to advance to Bin Zayed's back! Veljanovski really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Bin Zayed. Veljanovski goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Bin Zayed escapes and is now in half guard on top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Muhhamad Bin Zayed showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Bin Zayed shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Veljanovski sprawls well. Veljanovski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bin Zayed gets slowly back to his feet. Veljanovski leaves Bin Zayed with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Veljanovski gets a double leg takedown into Bin Zayed's guard. Veljanovski looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bin Zayed preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Veljanovski trying to move into half guard but instead Bin Zayed has managed to sweep!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bin Zayed throws a big elbow that misses. Bin Zayed slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Veljanovski. Veljanovski is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bin Zayed jumps into side control! Bin Zayed has knee on belly and moves into mount. Bin Zayed prevents Veljanovski from getting the reversal. Veljanovski sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Veljanovski is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Bin Zayed jumps into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Veljanovski is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bin Zayed is controlling him well. Veljanovski tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bin Zayed wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Veljanovski wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Bin Zayed has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Veljanovski's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Veljanovski is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Bin Zayed!
