The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey scores with a leg kick.

Dempsey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Andrews sprawls well initially but Dempsey persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dempsey is looking to take a break and control but Andrews is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Andrews tries to get to full guard but Dempsey has control of the leg.
Andrews is trying to maintain the position but Dempsey is very close to passing his half guard.
Dempsey tries to stand and escape but Andrews is controlling the position.
Dempsey is taking a breather. Andrews says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

and Dempsey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Andrews won't be happy with that.

Dempsey decides to stand up, so the ref orders Andrews to his feet.

Andrews looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Dempsey buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Dempsey counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Andrews is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Andrews is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dempsey knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Andrews goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dempsey has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Andrews but great work by Dempsey.

so Dempsey counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Aaron Andrews seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Dempsey counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dempsey.

Dempsey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Andrews crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dempsey - the referee stops the clock and Andrews gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dempsey. Andrews manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dempsey pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Andrews drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Andrews postures up in Dempsey's guard and throws a big left but Dempsey blocks it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Andrews stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Dempsey has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Andrews manages to get his head free but now Dempsey has transitioned to an armbar! Andrews grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Dempsey! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Craig's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bob is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Craig is defending well for now.

Craig breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Zaney Bob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Craig closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Craig is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bob is just riding it out for now. Craig eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bob tries to roll over but Craig keeps him under control.
Craig is keen to just control but Bob is a slippery customer.

Craig is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bob doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Craig.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bob holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Craig throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
