The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A chopping leg kick lands by Hardwood. Hardwood keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kochanowski. Hardwood scores with a hook to the body. Kochanowski takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A telegraphed right hand from Hardwood misses the target. Kochanowski misses with a head kick.
Left hook, right uppercut from Hardwood. Kochanowski throws a head kick but Hardwood moves out of range.
Kochanowski gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Hardwood misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kochanowski throws out a loose jab but Hardwood uses good head movement to avoid it. Hardwood lands a two punch combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hardwood scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Kochanowski throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Jab by Hardwood. Hardwood keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
A clash of legs there as Hardwood blocks the low kick. Kochanowski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hardwood scores with a jab to the body. Hardwood throws a combination. Kochanowski tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Hardwood slips a straight right by Kochanowski. Hardwood pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Kochanowski throws a right and a left that both miss. Hardwood swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kochanowski throws a hook but Hardwood blocks it. Kochanowski's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hardwood connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kochanowski scrambles back to his feet. Lance Hardwood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hardwood's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kochanowski under the eye. A nice combination there by Hardwood.
Jab from Hardwood. Hardwood fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hardwood defending well as Kochanowski loads up on a big left hand. Good shot there by Hardwood. Hardwood works the jab nicely. This has been an exciting period of action! Hardwood slips a jab from Kochanowski. Hardwood is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Hardwood bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kochanowski's head backwards. Good standup being displayed there by Hardwood as he connects with a hook. Hardwood lands a leg kick that knocks Kochanowski off balance momentarily. Hardwood throws a one two combo.
Hardwood is working the combinations to good effect here. Hardwood ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Kochanowski misses with the combination.
Hardwood lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. We've been informed that Kochanowski has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Hardwood connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kochanowski's hands. That kick from Hardwood tenderised Kochanowski's leg. Kochanowski is trying to keep his angry face on. Hardwood cracks Kochanowski with a right hand to the side of the head. Kochanowski throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hardwood appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Hardwood scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Hardwood looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Kochanowski has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Hardwood lands with a shot to the body. Hardwood throws a nice inside leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hardwood slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Hardwood cracks Kochanowski with an open hand slap. An inside leg kick lands from Hardwood. Donk. Hardwood catches Kochanowski right on the button with a cross. Hardwood cracks Kochanowski with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. A right-left combo lands from Hardwood.
Kochanowski is rocked! Hardwood scores with a shot to the body.
Kochanowski is still on wobbly legs! Can Hardwood finish him? Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hardwood, as that shot connected.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hardwood cracks Kochanowski with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Kochanowski tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Hardwood pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Kochanowski is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lance Hardwood! Lance Hardwood decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin misses with a straight right. Martin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Edgar throws out the jab. A nice side step and Martin releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Some bone on bone action there as Martin checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Martin misses with a two punch combination.
The fighters circling - Edgar throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Martin digs a good hook to Edgar's body.
Edgar tries to bum rush Martin with a series of wild strikes but Martin uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Edgar looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Edgar closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Edgar feints and then cracks Martin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Martin down. The fighters circling - Edgar throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Martin darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Martin moves into range and connects with a jab.
It looks like Frankie Edgar has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Martin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Edgar moves away. Edgar misses with a right hand and Martin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Edgar is rocked! Martin lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dakota Martin! An out of breath Dakota Martin thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko dives in for a single leg takedown but Gilas sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Emelianenko connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Emelianenko fails with a takedown attempt. A looping hook to the body misses from Emelianenko. Gilas does a little dance to reset his feet. Gilas throws a body punch but Emelianenko moves out of range. Gilas takes a shot right to the bread basket. Emelianenko drives through with a takedown into Gilas's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Emelianenko postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gilas is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Emelianenko, into his guard.
Emelianenko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emelianenko throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Gilas postures up in Emelianenko's guard and throws a big left but Emelianenko blocks it.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gilas's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Gilas postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Emelianenko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gilas's guard. Gilas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Emelianenko tries to free his leg and advance position but Gilas is retaining full guard. Emelianenko looking to sit in guard and control but Gilas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emelianenko has hold of Gilas's hands but Gilas slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Emelianenko looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gilas is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Gilas lands with a punch from half guard. My spies in mickeyharts the greatest inform me that Gilas has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Gilas working over Emelianenko with some ground and pound. Emelianenko looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Emelianenko trying to control but Gilas postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Emelianenko makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Emelianenko. Gilas showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Emelianenko controls Gilas momentarily but Gilas frees himself. Gilas working some strikes from top position. Emelianenko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gilas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gilas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Emelianenko looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Gilas passes into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Emelianenko is looking for a sweep. Gilas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Neil Gilas will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Emelianenko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gilas tries to avoid it but Emelianenko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gilas to the ground. Gilas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gilas throws a push kick but Emelianenko slaps the foot to one side. Emelianenko with a lazy takedown attempt and Gilas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Gilas will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Emelianenko tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Gilas defends well and Emelianenko ends up having to push Gilas into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice takedown defense from Gilas. No joy for Emelianenko on that attempt. Gilas lands with a kick to the ribs.
Gilas lands a head shot. Gilas comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Emelianenko shoots in for a double leg but Gilas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Emelianenko has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Gilas. Emelianenko sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Gilas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Emelianenko. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gilas throws a nice outside leg kick. Gilas lands a big head kick that sends Emelianenko tumbling to the mat! Gilas takes a step backwards and waves Emelianenko back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Alexander Emelianenko has been cut. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gilas punishes Emelianenko's body with a nice straight punch.

Gilas throws a leg kick which misses Emelianenko's front leg but catches the back leg as Emelianenko tries to avoid it. Gilas cracks the inside of Emelianenko's front leg. Emelianenko sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Gilas buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Emelianenko blocks a head kick by Gilas.

Oh Emelianenko is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Khan throws the left hand but Fredrickson avoids the punch easily. Fredrickson drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Khan defends it well. Fredrickson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Fredrickson slips a straight right by Khan. Genghis Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fredrickson swings for the body but Khan moves out of range.

That was a close round but I would say that Genghis Khan will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

That snapped Khan's head back.

And that's the end of the fight! Jaun-Paul Fredrickson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Fredrickson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
