The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oooh a lovely combination from Takamura sends Kane down but not out. Takamura dives into side control looking to finish.
Kane is rocked!
It looks like Michael Kane has been cut. Takamura wants to stand but Kane is controlling his arm. Kane is still in real trouble! Can Takamura finish him? Takamura stands up. Takamura throws a right and a left that both miss. Takamura looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kane seems to have recovered his senses. Takamura misses with a double jab.
Takamura will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kane takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Takamura cracks Kane with a right hand to the side of the head. Takamura connects with a nice cross there... Kane is looking wobbly and Takamura recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Kane to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Takamura jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Valdez shoots in and bounces Anderson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Anderson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Valdez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Valdez lands a couple of digs. Anderson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Anderson is looking to stand up but Valdez isn't so interested in that idea. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Junior, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
An inside leg kick lands from Nguyen. Nguyen is looking to clinch but Junior is avoiding it.
Junior is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Junior swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Junior tries to clinch but Nguyen is having none of it. Nguyen cracks Junior with an open hand slap. Nguyen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Junior manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Nguyen wants to control from the top but Junior keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Junior manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Nguyen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nguyen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Junior is not going to allow Nguyen to sit and survive in this position. Junior looking to hold on to the position here but Nguyen rolls and ends up regaining guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nguyen swings away with a leg kick that misses. Nguyen tries to clinch up and Junior moves into the clinch. Junior tries to score a body lock takedown but Nguyen shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Junior tries to work over Nguyen's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Junior prevents the takedown attempt.
Junior tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Nguyen just stands there and leans against the cage.

Junior stalling away here and it's allowed Nguyen to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Junior stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nguyen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nguyen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Junior can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Junior stops Nguyen from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nguyen is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nguyen tries to clinch but fails miserably and Junior counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Junior. Nguyen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Junior decides to take the fight back to the feet. Sen Nguyen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Junior with a flurry of punches that miss. Junior drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nguyen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nguyen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nguyen! Nguyen laying and praying for a moment but Junior takes advantage and regains half guard. Nguyen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Junior doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nguyen.

Nguyen looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Nguyen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Junior is looking to escape. Junior slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Nguyen wants to control but Junior is keeping him busy. Nguyen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Junior doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nguyen. Nguyen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Junior crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Nguyen - the referee stops the clock and Junior gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Nguyen. Junior manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Nguyen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Junior tries to buck Nguyen off but Nguyen is having none of it. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Nguyen is looking to take a break and control but Junior is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
