The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tan doesn't manage to clinch there - Dickinson circles away.
Dickinson misses with a jab, cross combination.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dickinson. Tan does a little dance to reset his feet. Tan moves into the clinch. Dickinson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. A shot in the inside from Tan. Dickinson pulls guard. Tan is looking to stand up but Dickinson won't let him. Dickinson looking for a sweep. Not yet Dickinson, not yet. Tan stands and steps away. Dickinson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Tan has his head snapped back a nice jab. Tan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Tan throws a sloppy head kick and Dickinson moves out of range easily. Tan looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Dickinson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tan was well out of range. Poor timing from Dickinson. Tan tries a head kick but it misses.
Debor Tan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tan with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Tan tries to close the distance and clinch but Dickinson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A jab from Dickinson misses. Tan leaves Dickinson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Tan lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
A combination from Dickinson does no damage. Tan throws a nice outside leg kick. Tan lands with a shot to the body. Tan fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Tan throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Dickinson.

Dickinson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Dickinson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Dickinson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Tan cracks Dickinson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Dickinson misses with a body punch
and Tan counters with a nice kick to the body. Tan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dickinson at a distance.
Tan dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Tan moves in looking to clinch but Dickinson pushes him off. Tan scores with a hook to the body. Dickinson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A slapping body kick lands there for Tan. Tan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dickinson's calf. Dickinson will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Tan scores with a kick to the body.
Tan throws a leg kick which misses Dickinson's front leg but catches the back leg as Dickinson tries to avoid it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dickinson was well out of range. Poor timing from Tan. Dickinson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Debor Tan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dickinson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Hopp looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Johnson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Johnson throws a jab when Hopp was well out of range. Johnson lands a nice shot to the body.

It looks like Michael Hopp has been cut. Johnson throws a hook but Hopp avoids it easily. Johnson lands an overhand right. Johnson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hopp. Hopp shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Johnson, as that shot connected.
Hopp looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well. Hopp has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Hopp. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hopp circles away from the clinch attempt so Hopp counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson pulls Hopp in to control the position. Johnson is looking to stand up but Hopp isn't so interested in that idea. Hopp wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position. Hopp slips nicely into half guard. Hopp is looking for a kimura but Johnson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hopp to get the leverage.

Hopp thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Johnson to regain full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hopp pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Johnson is keeping the position for now. Hopp wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Hopp is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Johnson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hopp. Hopp is trying to control the action in half guard but Johnson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hopp is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Johnson! Hopp goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Johnson is on top in guard.
Hopp wants to control the position but Johnson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Jones does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Metropolis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab. Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carwin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Starship Pain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Carwin. Carwin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pain. Pain throws a series of punches but Carwin moves out of range. Carwin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Carwin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Carwin is trying to control the action in half guard but Pain is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carwin is trying to control. Pain wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Starship Pain. I think Pain has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
