The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Machado makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Krause changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Machado tries to avoid it but Krause manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Machado to the ground. Machado escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Krause throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Machado's waist but Machado gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Krause off to one side.
Machado tries to counter with a clinch but Krause shakes him off and moves away.

I was talking to Krause's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Krause goes for a double leg but Machado avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Machado continues to drive forward.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Machado fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Krause.
Machado lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nice jab there from Machado.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Machado escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oh Krause is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Machado stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
BOOM! Machado lands a beautiful left hook that drops Krause. Krause tries to recover but Machado is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Krause lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Manny Machado!
A very excited looking Manny Machado made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
The defeated James Krause had this to say: 'I want a rematch. I'll beat him in the next one, just as I did with everyone who was lucky enough to beat me in Highland Games.'.
