The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lockwood shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kaufman eats them both and turns towards Lockwood to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Dean Lockwood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lockwood scores with a shot to the body.
The crowd cheers as Lockwood lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kaufman doesn't seem phased though.

Oh Kaufman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Pete breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Nice sprawl there from Pete as Mabogo shoots in.
Mabogo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Pete manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pete throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mabogo tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Mabogo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pete avoids it really well and circles away.
Texas Pete has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenalemodisa Mabogo.
Pete lands a front kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mabogo walks into a straight right hand from Pete.

It looks like Kenalemodisa Mabogo has been cut.
Mabogo walks straight into a right hand from Pete - that's dropped him! Pete jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Mabogo from any more punishment! Mabogo complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
