0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Karl Max! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Max tries for a takedown but Chris circles away easily enabling Chris to counter with a crisp jab. Max lands with a kick to the ribs.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Chris!
Max tries to clinch but fails miserably and Chris counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Max buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Chris keeps the fight on the outside. Chris throws a big counter combination but Max scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Max keeps Chris at a distance using the push kick. Karl Max seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Max wants to clinch but Chris slips to the side and Chris counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Max with a poor takedown and Chris counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A decent looking cross lands there for Chris. Max tries to clinch but Chris moves away and Chris counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's one minute gone in the round. Max shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Chris counters with a straight right hand. Max is still on wobbly legs! Can Chris finish him? Scuba Chris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Max. Max has his takedown stuffed and Chris counters with a lovely straight right hand! Max seems to have recovered his senses. Max is trying hard to land a takedown here. Chris sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A left lands for Chris. Max takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Max has his takedown stuffed enabling Chris to counter with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chris takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Some wild striking there from Chris.
We've been told by Chris's head coaches at Puter Kepala's that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Chris drops Max with a beautiful combination! Max stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Chris is looking for the KO! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chris connects with a body shot that sends Max's belly button to the back. Chris defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Max. Horrible takedown attempt by Max or perhaps it was just good defense by Chris, which made it look bad. Max moves to clinch but Chris breaks away and Chris counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Max misses with a takedown attempt and Max takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Max fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Max gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Max tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Chris is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Max buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Max!! Max is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Chris throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoppe looks for a takedown but Judan sprawls well. Judan attempts a counter takedown but Hoppe avoids it well and moves away. Hoppe misses with a takedown attempt and Judan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Hoppe is concentrating on defense, preventing Judan from advancing position. Hoppe moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hoppe lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Hoppe tries to free his leg and advance position but Judan is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Judan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hoppe. Hoppe working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Judan's head. Hoppe controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Judan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Judan tries to get out of the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hoppe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hoppe has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hoppe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Hoppe is looking to work some ground and pound but Judan has wrist control. Hoppe content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. We've been hearing good reports from Judan's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Judan wants to sweep but no luck. Hoppe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Judan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Hoppe throwing strikes from guard but Judan blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hoppe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Hoppe shoots in for a double leg but Judan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Ansatsuken Judan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hans Hermann Hoppe. Hoppe fails with the takedown and Judan counters with a shoot takedown. Hoppe fights it but they end up in guard. Hoppe working for a triangle but Judan defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hoppe is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The fighters are battling for position here. Hoppe manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Judan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hoppe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Judan has managed to get both his arms back between Hoppe's legs - danger averted. Hoppe wants to sweep but no luck. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Judan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hoppe swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hoppe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Judan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hoppe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Judan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Judan's back! Hoppe misses with a punch to the head. Hoppe punches the canvas rather than the man. Judan covering up well under a barage of strikes.

Hoppe lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Judan is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hoppe scores with a couple of nice shots. Nice strikes from Hoppe there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hoppe wants to control but Judan is keeping him busy.

He's simply no match for Hoppe on the ground. Judan is pressing down on Hoppe's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Judan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hoppe wants to control from the top but Judan keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Hans Hermann Hoppe will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Judan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Hoppe closes the distance and clinches up with Judan, looking for a takedown. Hoppe pushes Judan against the cage but Judan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Judan changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Hoppe fails with the takedown and Judan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hoppe won't be happy with that. Hoppe looks to move to half guard but instead Judan has passed into mount! Damn! Hoppe regains half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Judan is taking a breather. Hoppe says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Judan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hoppe can do to turn this around? Hoppe tries to get to full guard but Judan has control of the leg.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hoppe working Judan over with strikes. Hoppe sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Judan defending well though. Hoppe is looking to advance position but Judan won't allow it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chang has his takedown stuffed and Richardson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Chang really felt that one! Richardson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Chang. That did some damage! Chang misses with a takedown and Richardson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Chang throws a jab when Richardson was well out of range. And Richardson counters with a quick kick to the body but Chang blocks it. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Chang crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Richardson - the referee stops the clock and Chang gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Richardson. Chang manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Chang takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Chang looks winded! Richardson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Chang stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Mike Chang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Richardson connects with a solid leg kick. Richardson works Chang's body with a nice hook. A nice leg kick lands there from Richardson. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Richardson bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Richardson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Richardson throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
That's one minute gone in the round. A chopping leg kick lands by Richardson. Nice shot lands for Richardson. Richardson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. A nice leg kick lands there from Richardson. Chang takes a shot right to the bread basket. Richardson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Richardson lands a big head kick that sends Chang tumbling to the mat! Richardson takes a step backwards and waves Chang back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Mike Chang has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Richardson jabs at Chang's body. Chang is still on wobbly legs! Can Richardson finish him? Richardson throws a nice outside leg kick. Richardson connects with a solid leg kick. Richardson thumps Chang with a low kick. Chang walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Richardson swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

Jaka looks out on his feet and Wrestlerman throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Honey moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. The fight moves into the clinch position. Honey tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Kimura tries to land knees in the clinch but Honey avoids the damage to the body. Honey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kimura misses with the body kick enabling Honey to counter with a crisp jab. Kimura slips under a jab. A jab from Honey misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kimura closes the distance and clinches. Honey throws a head punch that misses. Abbott throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Both fighters circling a little - Ambrose finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Abbott rushes Ambrose and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Ambrose misses with a shot to the kidneys.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brenden Abbott. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Abbott, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Vitaly Karelin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Diego Brandao! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brandao clobbers Karelin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Diego Brandao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brandao buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Karelin just misses with a punch to the body.
Brandao throws a head kick that misses and Brandao takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Brandao scores with a shot to the body.
Brandao throws a leg kick and Karelin counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Brandao! Brandao bucks up and tries to throw Karelin off but instead Karelin has got his back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brandao is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Brandao trying to control the hands but Karelin won't let him. Brandao is covering up but some of the strikes from Karelin are getting through and doing damage.
Brandao trying to get back to his feet but Karelin is in full control for now. Karelin is hanging on to Brandao's back as he tries to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brandao is trying to get back to his feet but Karelin has full control of the position and if anything, Brandao has just worked his way into a worse spot. Brandao grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Brandao tries to break free.
Brandao covering up well and avoiding damage. Karelin misses with a punch to the head. Karelin throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Karelin wants to control but Brandao is keeping busy. Karelin has his opponent's back but Brandao is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Karelin. A bone on bone clash there as Karelin blocks the leg kick.
Karelin is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Karelin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Brandao listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Brandao takes a swing at Karelin's ribcage but misses. Karelin doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Brandao to counter with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brandao dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Karelin. That did some damage! We've been hearing reports that Karelin has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Brandao lands a head kick. Karelin smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Karelin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Brandao can pounce on him.

A quick step to the side and Karelin tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Karelin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Brandao tries to clinch there but Karelin circles away.
A little feinted left hand from Karelin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Brandao dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Good leg kick by Brandao there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Karelin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Brandao can pounce on him.
Karelin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Brandao has his feet on Karelin's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Diego Brandao is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Brandao throws a head kick that half lands.
An inside leg kick lands from Brandao. Karelin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Brandaos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Brandao is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karelin checks a leg kick. Karelin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Brandao. Brandao looks up at the clock. Bad move! Karelin lands a right hand from hell, dropping Brandao. Karelin pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vitaly Karelin! Diego Brandao spoke after the fight, saying 'fuck you ref, audience, and everyone else. I hate everyone, you all suck'.
