We've been hearing good reports from Lane Jr's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Lane Jr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Destroyer on the ground.

Velasquez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
No joy there for Wayne, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wayne scores with a one two! Velasquez had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Wayne lands a left and a right that send Velasquez crashing to the mat, dazed. Wayne thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Wayne throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Velasquez's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Wayne dives in looking to finish as Velasquez flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Wayne's strikes! Wayne is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Velasquez's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Velasquez was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexx Andersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Rondeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexx Andersson had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 187.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Alexx Andersson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?
