0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, butt head! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alipio drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. head defending against the ground and pound. Alipio in side control, throwing shots but head defends. Alipio is looking to take a break and control but head is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Alipio throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Alipio looking to punish the body of his opponent here but head is avoiding damage well.
Alipio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Alipio wants to lay and pray for a moment but head keeps working. head is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alipio throwing strikes but missing, from side control. head is not content to let Alipio control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. head throws an overhand right that lands on Alipio's shoulder, as Alipio tries to avoid the shot. Alipio shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as head sprawls well. head wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alipio gets slowly back to his feet. head throws a solid leg kick but Alipio takes the impact on his shin and smiles at head. Crunch! Alipio slams his shin into head's torso. head misses with a wild combination.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. head throws a front kick aimed at Alipio's knee but Alipio avoids it well. head throws a series of punches but Alipio moves out of range. Alipio has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Alipio there as he acknowledges the shot. head tests Alipio's chin there with a solid looking shot. Alipio tries for a takedown but head sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Alipio takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. head fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
head looks gassed! head misses with a low kick as Alipio jumps back. Alipio throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. head was covering up waiting for the punch and Alipio finishes the takedown easily into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alipio prevents head from getting back to his feet. Alipio lands a couple of digs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alipio thows a big elbow that misses. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if head can do anything to dispel that myth. Alipio seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. head can't keep his opponent in guard - Alipio advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Alipio is trying to control the action in half guard but head is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Alipio is pressing down on head's thigh, looking to free his foot. head is holding on for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. head avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Alipio. Alipio not doing much here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tupaz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Giba. Tupaz moves out of range as Giba strikes. Giba throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tupaz sees it coming and avoids it easily. Tupaz slips under a jab. Tupaz throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Tupaz connects with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Giba shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tupaz sprawls well. Tupaz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Giba gets slowly back to his feet. Tupaz takes a swing at Giba's ribcage but misses.

Giba drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tupaz takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Tupaz tries to buck Giba off but Giba is having none of it. Giba creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Tupaz sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Tupaz struggling a bit here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tupaz tries to get back to half guard but can't. Tupaz struggling a bit here. Tupaz avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Giba.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tupaz throws a leg kick which misses Giba's front leg but catches the back leg as Giba tries to avoid it. Giba misses the jab. Tupaz tries to bum rush Giba with a series of wild strikes but Giba uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A combination from Tupaz does no damage. Tupaz steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Giba. Tupaz moves out of range as Giba strikes. Tupaz throws an overhand right that lands on Giba's shoulder, as Giba tries to avoid the shot. Tupaz lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Giba takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Tupaz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tupaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tupaz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Tupaz cracks Giba with a good jab. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Tupaz throws a looping overhand right but Giba ducks down to avoid it. Giba blocks a head kick by Tupaz.

Tupaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Giba moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Giba is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tupaz. Giba shoots for a takedown but Tupaz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Giba. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tupaz scores with a one two! Giba had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Tupaz pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A big left from Tupaz misses. Giba has a takedown stuffed. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Giba throws a head kick that misses and Tupaz counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Tupaz swinging wildly here.

Yason Tupaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Giba is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Tupaz moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tupaz throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Giba throws a sloppy head kick and Tupaz counters with a lovely shot to the body. Giba throws a head kick but Tupaz moves out of range.
Giba fails with the takedown and Tupaz counters with a two punch combo. Giba throws a lazy right hand but Tupaz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Giba shoots and misses and Tupaz counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Giba. That's going to take a lot out of him. Giba shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Tupaz throws a nice outside leg kick. Tupaz lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Tupaz. Tupaz lands a head kick. Giba smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Tupaz throws a nice inside leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tupaz is looking to land body kicks. A shot to de liver by Tupaz. Beautiful body shot. Yason Tupaz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Giba throws a sloppy head kick and Tupaz counters with a straight right hand. Tupaz lands a really nice looking cross but Giba seems unphased.
Tupaz thuds a left hand into Giba's body. Giba has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Giba tries a head kick but it misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Yason Tupaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Tupaz winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

BAGCAL throws a series of punches but Hife avoids them all with ease. BAGCAL throws a right hand that Hife ducks under and follows up with a left that Hife also avoids with ease. BAGCAL misses with a two punch combination.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Hife breaks the clinch.
BAGCAL could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Hife feints and as BAGCAL raises his hands in defense, Hife changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. BAGCAL has his foot on Hife's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hife works his way back into a safe position though. Hife loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. BAGCAL is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. BAGCAL manages to get to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hife wants to control from the top but BAGCAL keeps moving. Hife got a little sloppy there for a moment and BAGCAL has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hife has managed to get both his arms back between BAGCAL's legs - danger averted.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hife tries to stand but BAGCAL is controlling from the bottom. Hife throwing strikes from guard but BAGCAL blocks nicely. BAGCAL trying to keep a closed guard but Hife is proving a slippery customer.
Hife must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. BAGCAL is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. BAGCAL is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

BAGCAL seems to be working for a kimura but Hife defends the submission attempt. BAGCAL is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hife is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! ozolinas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chiba avoids it really well and circles away. ozolinas shoots in but no luck this time. ozolinas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for arturas ozolinas. That's going to take a lot out of him. ozolinas dives in and grabs Chiba's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chiba pushes down on ozolinas's head and hops out. Chiba scores with a sloppy right hand. ozolinas should have avoided that one. Chiba swats away the attempt to clinch by ozolinas. A solid body kick from Chiba. ozolinas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chiba defends it nicely. ozolinas shoots in for a takedown but Chiba shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. ozolinas is breathing heavily. ozolinas wants to clinch up but Chiba keeps it at a distance. ozolinas takes a body kick right on the floating rib. It looks like arturas ozolinas has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! ozolinas is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Chiba throws a leg kick which misses ozolinas's front leg but catches the back leg as ozolinas tries to avoid it. Chiba moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Chiba goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Genku Chiba is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Chiba lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Chiba cracks ozolinas with an open hand slap. ozolinas takes a jab right on the kisser.

That's two minutes gone in the round. ozolinas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chiba as he avoids it easily. Oh ozolinas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Chiba scoring well with a low kick there.
ozolinas is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Chiba doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! ozolinas crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in ozolinas's bad books for that mishap!

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Raffoul postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Raffoul trying to control the position from guard on top but Crut is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Crut had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Raffoul defends it easily. Raffoul is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Raffoul's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopachai moves out of range as Dragin strikes. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hopachai.

Hopachai keeps Dragin at a distance using the push kick. Dragin looks gassed! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hopachai thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dragin if he has to take too many more of those.
Hopachai drops Dragin with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dragin looks back up at him and smiles so Hopachai waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
It looks like Demid Dragin has been cut. Hopachai punishes Dragin's body with a nice straight punch. Hopachai throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Dragin crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
