Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eddie Hughs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Howe Dooer! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dooer lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Hughs throws a predictable looking body shot
and Dooer counters with a straight right hand. No joy there for Dooer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dooer gets caught flat footed, as Hughs shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Hughs lands a couple of elbows. Hughs throws a big right hand that misses. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hughs's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hughs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dooer is keeping the position for now. Hughs might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hughs with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. This has been an exciting period of action! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hughs accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hughs throws an elbow that misses. Dooer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hughs's guard. Nice move by Dooer!
Dooer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hughs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hughs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dooer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Hughs wants to sweep here but Dooer controlling him for the moment. Hughs is adopting a defensive guard. Hughs looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dooer trying to control but Hughs is working from the bottom. Dooer looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Dooer wants to stand but Hughs is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dooer lands with a nice combination. Hughs backs away looking to recover. Hughs takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Dooer scores with a hook to the body. Hughs takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Dooer throws a series of strikes that have Hughs backpedaling.
Hughs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dooer pinned against the cage. Dooer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dooer throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hughs on the side of the head. Hughs misses with a takedown and Dooer counters with a straight right hand. Dooer throws a one two combo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dooer lands a nice shot that snaps Hughs's head back.
Dooer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dooer. Dooer throws a series of strikes that have Hughs backpedaling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Howe Dooer dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dooer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dooer dips down and scores with a jab to the body. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Dooer. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Dooer tests Hughs's chin there with a solid looking shot. Dooer misses with the combination.
Howe Dooer seems to be getting the better of the standup. Dooer lands a two punch combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dooer wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Dooer has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Dooer fails to land with a series of punches.
Hughs drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dooer sprawls and moves away. Dooer scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Howe Dooer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughs drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hughs scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Hughs seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Hughs loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hughs with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Dooer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Dooer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hughs controls the pace. Hughs lands a couple of elbows. Dooer has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Hughs sitting in guard, not really doing much. Dooer trying to keep a closed guard but Hughs is proving a slippery customer.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Hughs connects with a couple of short punches. Dooer looking for a sweep. Not yet Dooer, not yet. Hughs is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Hughs passes Dooer's left leg - he's now in half guard. Dooer is breathing heavily. Hughs slips a nice elbow through Dooer's hands, connecting with Dooer's forehead. Hughs is controlling the pace.
Hughs seems to be looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hughs looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Dooer wants to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hughs throwing shots but Dooer is blocking nicely. Dooer is trying to maintain the position but Hughs is very close to passing his half guard. Eddie Hughs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hughs is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dooer sees it coming and defends easily. Hughs controlling the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Eddie Hughs will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Hughs shoots for a double leg takedown but Dooer sprawls well. He's pushed Hughs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hughs engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Dooer is trying to control the position but Hughs postures up. Hughs is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Dooer jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Sloppy strikes from Dooer. Those never looked like landing. Howe Dooer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dooer goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Dooer lands with a shot to the body. Hughs has a takedown stuffed. Dooer doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Hughs doesn't succeed with the takedown and Dooer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Hughs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dooer feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hughss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Hughs takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hughs waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dooer. Dooer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Hughs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dooer counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Dooer connects with a single shot there. Dooer uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hughs has time to react. Dooer thuds his right hand into Hughs's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dooer misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sloppy strikes from Dooer. Those never looked like landing. Hughs looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Hughs closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hughs throws a sloppy body shot
and Dooer counters with a nice uppercut. Hughs looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Dooer stalks Hughs and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hughs's face. Hughs staggers backwards, shaken. No joy there for Dooer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hughs bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Dooer on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Howe Dooer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Dooer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Muncher jabbing away but nothing is landing. Gomez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Muncher avoids it really well and circles away. Muncher moves in looking to clinch but Gomez pushes him off. Gomez closes the distance and clinches. Gomez tries to pull guard but Muncher won't allow it.
Gomez lands a shoulder strike. Gomez unloads a knee to the mid-section. Muncher lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Gomez manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Gomez is trying to push Muncher away but Muncher has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gomez holding his opponent close, against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gomez trying to control the position but instead, Muncher has worked for underhooks and has pushed Gomez into the cage. Gomez is looking to take this one to the mat. Scat Muncher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andreas Giolas Gomez . Muncher is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gomez pulls him back up using the underhooks. Gomez stops a takedown attempt from Muncher.
Muncher could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Muncher controlling the action here for a moment.

Muncher's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Muncher working the head with strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gomez can do anything to dispel that myth. You can see the frustration on Gomez 's face as Muncher controls the position. Muncher works to advance to full mount. Gomez defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. The fight moves into the clinch position. Gomez tries to pull guard but Muncher holds him up against the cage and eventually Gomez drops back down to his feet.
Gomez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Muncher walks away with a smile on his face. Gomez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Muncher swinging wildly here.

He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Muncher slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Muncher is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gomez can do to turn this around? Gomez can't keep his opponent in guard - Muncher advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Muncher seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Scat Muncher is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gomez tries to roll over but Muncher keeps him under control. Muncher with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Muncher is stinking the place up with his stalling.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Muncher drives through with a takedown into Gomez 's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Muncher controlling from the top position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Andreas Giolas Gomez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Muncher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Scat Muncher wins by unanimous decision! Scat Muncher decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
