The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bottoms wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Bottoms shoots in and drives through. Boy sprawls well.
Boy on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Boy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Boy takes the fight into the clinch.

Boy has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Bottoms is trying to keep an underhook but Boy manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Boy is working for a submission of some sort.

Boy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Boy is trying to stand and escape. In the scramble, Bottoms has locked hold of an arm and he's managed to lock on an armbar - Boy taps out instantly and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ketchum defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Helmut.
Ketchum tries a head kick but it misses.
Horrible takedown attempt by Helmut or perhaps it was just good defense by Ketchum, which made it look bad.
Ketchum keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luigi Helmut. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ketchum tries to land a front kick but Helmut steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Helmut scores with a hook to the body. Ketchum takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Helmut changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ketchum tries to avoid it but Helmut manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ketchum to the ground. Ketchum escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Akinfenwa drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Akinfenwa seems to have locked his on tight now - Byrd screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Akinfenwa, as he picks up the win!

Carpe tries a head kick but it misses.
Rzasa drops down looking for a counter takedown but Carpe sprawls and moves away.
Rzasa tries to close the distance and clinch but Carpe swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Carpe shoots in looking for a takedown but Rzasa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carpe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Carpe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rzasa throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Rzasa could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Carpe lands a couple of elbows.

Rzasa looks to move to half guard but instead Carpe has passed into mount! Damn!
Rzasa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Carpe is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rzasa has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rzasa!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carpe is looking to cinch up a triangle. Rzasa throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Carpe's body to avoid the submission. Carpe has instead reached around Rzasa's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Carpe arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
