1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, JD Dayley! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castellano scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dayley in his tracks. Castellano changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Leo Castellano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Castellano misses the shot to the body. Dayley takes a jab right on the kisser.
Dayley needs to keep his hands up - Castellano had a free shot at his head there. Castellano fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dayley manages to avoid it. Dayley with the counter takedown but Castellano avoids it easily. Dayley uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Castellano.
Dayley changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Nice defenses there by Dayley. Dayley doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Castellano misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Dayley counters with a nice double leg into guard. Dayley trying to control the position from guard on top but Castellano is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Castellano has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Now he's in guard on top. Castellano passes Dayley's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Castellano wants to pass the guard but Dayley is defending well. Castellano is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Castellano seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dayley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Castellano jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dayley is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dayley and Castellano has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Dayley wants to control but Castellano postures up. Castellano goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dayley has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Castellano but great work by Dayley.

Tektas stuffs the takedown. And Tektas tries to counter it with a takedown but Rayne pushes his down on his head and steps out. Tektas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. It looked like Bones wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Bones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
This has been an exciting period of action! Nice body kick from Bones. Bones throws an overhand right that drops Garuntasticos like a sack of potatoes! Bones dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

I think Scott might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to DMX - Ain't No Sunshine. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sotiropoulos with a lazy takedown attempt and Scott counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Michael Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryn Sotiropoulos. Sotiropoulos looks winded! Scott lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

You can see the frustration on Santos's face as The Burninator controls the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
