The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maia scores with a one two! mikn had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Maia lands a nice looking body shot.
Maia shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in mikn's guard. Maia trying to control the position from guard on top but mikn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Maia won't allow mikn to sweep him here. Maia forces his way into half guard. mikn is looking for a sweep. Maia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Maia wants to pass the guard but mikn is defending well. mikn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Maia wants to pass the guard but mikn is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maia tries to pass the half guard into mount. mikn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. mikn with a lazy takedown attempt and Maia counters with a nice double leg into half guard. mikn tries to get to full guard but Maia has control of the leg. Maia is trying to control the action in half guard but mikn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Maia not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. mikn is looking to control Maia's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can mikn avoid being mounted?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maia jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… mikn is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by mikn and Maia has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

mikn is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Maia's half guard. Maia is staying active underneath mikn, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Maia tries to roll over but mikn keeps him under control. mikn is looking for a kimura. Maia is pushing down on mikn's leg trying to pass to half guard. mikn is fighting to maintain full guard but Maia has managed to sneak the leg through. Maia wants to pass to mount but mikn is defending the position. Maia is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and mikn defends it well. mikn trying to control from the bottom.

mikn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maia defends it easily. Maia passes easily into side control. Nice work. Maia thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. mikn is looking to regain half guard here but Maia keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. mikn managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Maia.
Maia working away. Maia decides to stand back up. Maia stuffs the takedown. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nice sprawl there from Maia as mikn shoots in. mikn fails with a takedown attempt. Demian Maia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of shario mikn. mikn tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maia shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with mikn but mikn pushes him off and we're back to square one. Maia is looking to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. mikn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Maia sprawls well initially but mikn persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Maia is defending against the submission attempts here by mikn.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Edwards. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson. Johnson shoots in but Edwards avoids the takedown attempt easily. Edwards is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Glenn Edwards seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Edwards shoots in and bounces Johnson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Edwards is one step ahead there. Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Johnson is working for an americana but Edwards has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Johnson was thinking about the submission.

Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Johnson is breathing heavily. Edwards has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. It's a sloppy attempt though and Edwards jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Edwards is in close to Johnson's body, working some short punches and elbows. Edwards thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Edwards distracts Johnson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Edwards from controlling successfully. Edwards keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Johnson's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glenn Edwards dominated that round. That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Edwards has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.
Edwards pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Johnson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Edwards holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Edwards is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Edwards manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Edwards is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Johnson has his hands clasped together but Edwards extends an breaks Johnson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Edwards.

Torres throws a right and a left that both miss. Torres cracks Perote with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Perote falls to his knees and Torres doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Sopa throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Cozzy counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cozzy. Sopa throws a nice looking combination but Cozzy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sopa takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Cozzy cracks Sopa with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Nice body punch from Cozzy. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Sopa in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Nice body kick from Cozzy. Sopa throws a head kick that misses. Cozzy throws a head kick that Sopa semi-blocks.

Flabianno goes for an armbar but Impaler turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Impaler. Impaler pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard.
