We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mundy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rockefeller feints a jab promting Bowman to slip. Rockefeller then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bowman slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Rockefeller leaves Bowman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Rockefeller as Bowman shoots in.
Bowman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rockefeller swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Bowman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rockefeller has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bowman is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Bowman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rockefeller is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bowman, into his guard.


Bowman has his foot on Rockefeller's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rockefeller works his way back into a safe position though.

We've been hearing good reports from Bowman's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Rockefeller is nestled in close to Bowman, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Rockefeller lands a big elbow - Bowman is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Rockefeller!
