10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Grigori Belikov! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belikov moves away from the strike by XHTC. A big right from Belikov misses. Belikov lands a big shot that drops XHTC! Can he finish him?
XHTC is rocked!
It looks like Codename XHTC has been cut. XHTC is breathing heavily. Belikov trying to control the position from guard on top but XHTC is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oh XHTC is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Belikov's corner is telling him to maintain position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Belikov wants to pass the guard but XHTC is keeping the position. XHTC has momentary wrist control but Belikov slips an elbow through the middle. Belikov scoring with some ground and pound. XHTC will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Belikov lands a couple of digs. Belikov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with XHTC. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Belikov trying to control the position from guard on top but XHTC is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Belikov wants to stand but XHTC has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Nice work. Belikov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. XHTC knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Belikov decides to stand back up. Belikov steps back and let's XHTC get back to his feet. Belikov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. XHTC seems to have got his legs back now. A looping hook to the body misses from Belikov. XHTC does a little dance to reset his feet.

Belikov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Belikov throws a nice outside leg kick. Belikov is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down XHTC rather than just go for the knockout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Belikov attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. XHTC keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

XHTC keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Belikov. Belikov moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! XHTC goes down! Can Belikov finish him!? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! XHTC tries to land a sweep but no joy. XHTC keeping moving, preventing Belikov from controlling successfully. Belikov looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Belikov tries to stand but XHTC is controlling from the bottom.

Belikov would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Belikov wants to control from the top but XHTC keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A jab from Belikov misses. Belikov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but XHTC moves away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

One final crushing shot and XHTC lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Torres defends it well. Maldi frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Torres tries to hold on but Maldi pushes him away. Maldi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Torres can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Maldi sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Torres keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

A frustrated look appears on Torres's face as he tries to break the clinch. Torres wants to get back to striking at distance but Maldi won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Torres is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Maldi tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. A short right from Maldi. Maldi effectively controlling the action here. Maldi is trying to force a seperation but Torres has the dominant position.
