Gridin has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Gridin has had enough of the clinch but Tasker keeps him there for the moment. Tasker jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gridin walks away with a smile on his face. Tasker gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Tasker shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tasker was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gridin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Tasker asserts his dominance and retains side control. We've been hearing good reports from Gridin's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Tasker is working to tighten his grip on Gridin's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gridin has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Tasker is really squeezing tight and eventually Gridin passes out! Tasker breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Dan Tasker! In defeat, Kuzma Gridin stepped up to the mic, saying 'Sprosi u svoei mami'.
