Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kaarden Marzda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Telik Brahiid! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brahiid keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Marzda cracks Brahiid with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Marzda has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Brahiid to stand back up!
Brahiid is rocked!
It looks like Telik Brahiid has been cut. Marzda cracks Brahiid with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Brahiid looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Marzda finish him?
Brahiid is still on wobbly legs! Can Marzda finish him? The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brahiid has a takedown stuffed. It looked like Marzda was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Brahiid seems to have recovered his senses. Brahiid shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brahiid showed some decent athleticism there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marzda is trying to stand back up but Brahiid is controlling him
Brahiid has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Marzda defend it? Brahiid steps over the head and cranks it - Marzda is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Brahiid!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OQuinn gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. OQuinn swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Zipe tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and OQuinn avoids it. OQuinn fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Zipe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Zipe blocks a punch to the side of the head.
OQuinn keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Zipe's efforts to push away. Zipe is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. OQuinn is defending well for now. Zipe tries to score a body lock takedown but OQuinn shows good agility there to stay on his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zipe blocking some punches.
OQuinn lands on the inside with an uppercut. Nice body punch from OQuinn. OQuinn working some nice short punches in the clinch.
It looks like Shawn Zipe has been cut. Zipe wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. OQuinn throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Zipes head. OQuinn misses with the head strike.
Zipe blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Still in the clinch, OQuinn scores with a nice short uppercut. Zipe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Zipe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as OQuinn sprawls well. OQuinn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zipe gets slowly back to his feet. OQuinn throws a big counter combination but Zipe scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Damien OQuinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shawn Zipe. OQuinn throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Zipe with the counter takedown but OQuinn avoids it easily. OQuinn tries to bum rush Zipe with a series of wild strikes but Zipe uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Zipe shoots and misses and OQuinn counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Zipe off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - OQuinn follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Zipe was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Damien OQuinn! Damien OQuinn seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
