The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neck gets caught flat footed, as Mordor shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mordor is looking to work some ground and pound but Neck has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neck not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Neck might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mordor kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Mordor working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Mordor trying to control but Neck is working from the bottom.

Neck working for a triangle but Mordor defends it easily.

Mordor drops back, looking for a kneebar! Neck looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Neck looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Neck!
Mordor tries to bench press Neck off him but Neck keeps the position.

Neck is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mordor has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neck decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mordor to his feet.

Neck shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mordor's guard.

Neck drops back looking for a leg! Mordor is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mordor manages to kick Neck off! Neck jumps back into Mordor's guard.
Neck wants to pass the guard but Mordor is keeping the position.

and Neck counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Neck wants to control from the top but Mordor keeps moving.
Neck seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mordor isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Neck stacks Mordor on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Neck!
Neck takes a little break here. Mordor wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Neck has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Neck darts in and clinches Mordor up against the cage.

Neck breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Neck lands a big head kick that sends Mordor tumbling to the mat! Neck takes a step backwards and waves Mordor back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Max Mordor has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Neck comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
