Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brazilian Burger (ranked 3494 p4p, 320 weight class) and Shlomo Goldberg (ranked 4018 p4p, 365 weight class). Burger comes to the cage accompanied by Sorriso Maroto - Assim Vocę Mata o Papai. Goldberg has chosen Oy vei as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Brazilian Burger has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shlomo Goldberg! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burger closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Goldberg quickly recovers to half guard. Burger looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Goldberg with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Goldberg trying to hold on to Burger's head to control him but Burger postures up.
Burger is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Burger takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Goldberg is in trouble now - Burger has advanced to mount! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goldberg is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burger is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Goldberg can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Burger pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Goldberg tries to lock up and control but Burger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Burger definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Burger has control of Goldberg's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Goldberg regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Goldberg taking shots to the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Burger takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Goldberg tries to reverse the position but Burger maintains control. Goldberg in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Burger raining down hammerfists from mount. Burger is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Goldberg to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Goldberg shrugs it off. Burger lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
It looks like Shlomo Goldberg has been cut. Burger fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Burger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Goldberg is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Burger breaks from Goldberg's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Goldberg is rocked! Burger lands a nice shot to the head. Goldberg is still in real trouble! Can Burger finish him?
That has opened up Shlomo Goldberg's cut even more. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burger unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Goldberg wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Burger celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Esquire tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Watts defends well and Esquire ends up having to push Watts into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Esquire closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Watts's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Watts can do anything to dispel that myth. Esquire wants to control from the top but Watts keeps moving. Esquire thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Esquire trying to control the position from guard on top but Watts is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Esquire throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Watts wants to stand up but Esquire is controlling him. Esquire trying to control but Watts is working from the bottom. Watts uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Esquire shoots in but no luck this time. Esquire takes a shot right to the bread basket. Watts lands a left and a right that send Esquire crashing to the mat, dazed. Watts thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Jason Esquire has been cut. Watts lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Esquire crumples to the floor! Watts milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A cross from Steve lands. Steve throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Chu swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Chu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Steve clobbers Chu with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Jab from Steve. Steve throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steve throws a lazy right hand but Chu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Chu throwing a counter right hand but Steve manages to avoid it. Steve cracks Chu with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Chu avoids the body shot from Steve.
Steve's coach down at Blood Warrior was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Steve's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Chu moves away from the strike by Steve. Steve fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chu manages to avoid it. It looked like Chu was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Steve. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steve scores with a one two! Chu had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Chu just misses with a punch to the body.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Chu might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Steve swings widly with a right hand

Chu has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. The fighters circling - Steve throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Chu throws a body punch but Steve moves out of range. Steve scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Steve jabs Chu right on the nose. Chu blinks but takes it well. This has been an exciting period of action! Steve lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

And that's the end of the fight! Randall Steve comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Steve has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
