The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kross looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Vutila! Vutila is desperately trying to improve his position but Kross has a good base and remains in mount. Kross lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Kross is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Vutila has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Vutila! Soze sees it coming and avoids it easily. Fitzgibbon looks to land a combination but Soze avoids it well. Horrible takedown by Fitzgibbon or perhaps it was just good defense by Soze which made him look bad. Fitzgibbon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Soze gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Fitzgibbon to counter with a crisp jab. Soze fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fitzgibbon sprawls well initially but Soze persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Fitzgibbon is looking to escape. Soze winds up and cracks Fitzgibbon with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Soze trying to control the action but Fitzgibbon is working from the bottom. Soze works his foot free and advances to mount. You get the feeling that Fitzgibbon really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Syvyyspommi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Swoop pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Syvyyspommi is keeping the position for now. Syvyyspommi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
