Rawlee shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Mcfly is controlling Rawlee's trapped leg to prevent Rawlee from advancing to side control.
Let's hope that Mcfly has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcfly is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Rawlee is tapping! Great win for Mcfly!

Undercard bout

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jimi Kuala (ranked 4486 p4p, 227 weight class) and Danny Manny (ranked 8544 p4p, 391 weight class). Jimi Kuala had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 137.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Manny tries for a takedown but Kuala sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Manny is trying to force a seperation but Kuala has the dominant position.

Kuala is pressed up against the cage. Manny has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kuala down to the mat. Kuala avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jimi Kuala has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Manny.
Manny looks to score with a jab to the body but Kuala is just out of range.
Manny shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kuala defends it nicely.

Jab, jab by Mutuumbe - just one landing.
Teddy Bear seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bear uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mutuumbe .
Mutuumbe uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bear.
Bear throws a right and a left that Mutuumbe avoids nicely.
Mutuumbe tries to clinch but Bear moves out of range.
Bear misses with a straight left.
Bear's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mutuumbe under the eye.

It looks like Zulu Mutuumbe has been cut.
Bear throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Mutuumbe 's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Bear dives in looking to finish as Mutuumbe flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Bear's strikes! Bear is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Mutuumbe 's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Mutuumbe was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

A determined Teddy Bear didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Assad fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hicks manages to avoid it.
It seemed like Hicks was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Hicks uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Assad has time to react.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Springs has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
BOOM! Monteiro lands a beautiful left hook that drops Springs. Springs tries to recover but Monteiro is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Springs lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
