The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Meadows is looking to clinch. Jones feints the counter takedown. Meadows lands with a thumping leg kick.
Meadows tries to land a front kick but Jones steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Meadows gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Jones wants to control from the top but Meadows keeps moving. Meadows throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jones passes Meadows's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Meadows is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meadows trying to control but Jones postures up.
Jones slips a nice elbow through Meadows's hands, connecting with Meadows's forehead. Jones lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Jones wants to free his trapped foot but Meadows is holding on for dear life with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones lands strikes from half guard. Meadows wants to stand back up but Jones manages to pass into side control.

Meadows is rocked! Meadows is trying to get back to his feet. Oh Meadows is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Meadows seems to have got his legs back now. Meadows is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Jones take his back! Uh oh - Jones has got a rear naked choke here! Meadows is forced to tap! It's all over! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Markham has Ward up against the cage in a clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Markham holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Markham breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Markham fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ward to the ground. Markham is now in Ward's guard. Ward is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Markham content to stall in guard here. Markham is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Markham gets to his feet - Ward follows without any prompting. Ward's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ward duly obliges.
That's one minute gone in the round. Markham closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ward did well to prevent Markham getting side control. Ward actively working from the bottom here. Ward is looking to improve his position.
Markham looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ward wants to control but Markham is keeping busy and won't allow it. Markham looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Markham gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Ward cracks a nice hook into Markham's ribs. Ward dodges the punch combination from Markham.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward connects with a right hand. Markham shakes it off. Markham moves into the clinch. Markham jumps guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Markham keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ward uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Markham moves into the clinch. Ward jumps guard but Markham turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Ward is fighting off a takedown attempt but Markham is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ward to the mat. Ward regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mubanga stalling away here and it's allowed Silva to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ahikaroa shoots in looking for a takedown. Theodore tries to sprawl out of it but Ahikaroa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Theodore manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ahikaroa fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Theodore to the ground. Ahikaroa is now in Theodore's guard. Theodore wants to sweep here but Ahikaroa controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Theodore is working hard here to advance position. Murphy forces Redcliffe back against the cage and clinches. Redcliffe jumps guard but Murphy turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Murphy manages to break the clinch.

Ross Gleeson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De Negri drives through with a takedown into Gleeson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Gleeson appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. De Negri shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gleeson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. De Negri connects with a couple of short punches. Gleeson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for De Negri on the ground.
