The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Veljanovski swings away with a leg kick that misses. Carlsson gets a takedown into half guard. Veljanovski has his hands clasped together around Carlsson's back. He's all about the action. Carlsson is pressing down on Veljanovski's thigh, looking to free his foot. Veljanovski is holding on for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Veljanovski on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carlsson is keen to just control but Veljanovski is a slippery customer. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carlsson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Veljanovski manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlsson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Veljanovski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carlsson has Veljanovski in his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Veljanovski gets to his feet - Carlsson follows without any prompting. Veljanovski throws a leg kick and Carlsson counters with a three punch combo that has Veljanovski backing up. Veljanovski nods at Carlsson to acknowledge the strikes. Veljanovski is trying to control Carlsson's posture but Carlsson avoids it. Veljanovski is holding Carlsson down, trying to stall. Veljanovski tries to buck Carlsson off but Carlsson is having none of it. Veljanovski can't do much from the bottom here. Veljanovski is not content to let Carlsson control the position.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David Carlsson. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carlsson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meechum throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mark Garbut seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garbut drives through with a takedown into Meechum's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Garbut postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Garbut slips nicely into half guard. Garbut lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Garbut takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Garbut winds up and cracks Meechum with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Garbut looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Garbut seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Garbut working over Meechum with some ground and pound. He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! Franco tries to throw a body punch but Gump avoids it by throwing Franco back against the cage. Franco gets through Gump's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Gump blocks an elbow strike from Franco.

Franco is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gump can do to turn this around? Gump wants to lay and pray for a moment but Franco keeps working. Gump is working for a kimura but Franco is defending it quite comfortably.
Franco makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Franco. Franco wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

I was talking to King's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. A frustrated look appears on Alves's face as he tries to break the clinch. Alves looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Alves is trying to break free. King lands a left hand that snaps the head of Alves backwards. King tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
King is pressed up against the cage. Alves has hold of a leg and is looking to drag King down to the mat. King avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Alves tries to clinch up but King circles away and keeps his distance. King misses with a double jab.
It seemed like Alves was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. King clinches up against the cage. King connects with a nasty looking knee right to Alves's face.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gustafson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Asinen tries to counter by clinching up but Gustafson breaks away and moves out of range. Gustafson misses with a head kick.

Asinen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gustafson can't fight it off and eventually Asinen manages to take the fight to the floor. Tertelgte scores with a jab to the jaw. Ryzon shoots in looking for a takedown but Tertelgte manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ryzon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A looping hook to the body misses from Ryzon. Tertelgte does a little dance to reset his feet. Ryzon throws a head kick that misses. Tertelgte is looking to counter with a shot to the body. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lee and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

There ya go! There ya go! Swift Jr is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Douglas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Swift Jr is fighting to break Douglas's control of his arms but Douglas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swift Jr stands up and waves to Douglas to follow him. Douglas pushing out the jab but it's not landing. A jab lands there for Douglas. Swift Jr tries to clinch but fails miserably enabling Douglas to counter with a crisp jab. Kane Swift Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Douglas throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Swift Jr with a lazy takedown attempt and Douglas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Douglas scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Swift Jr doesn't seem bothered though. Swift Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Douglas sprawls well. Douglas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Swift Jr gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kane Swift Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him. Swift Jr fails with the takedown and Douglas counters with a right hand to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Swift Jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Douglas counters with a lovely shot to the body. Douglas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Swift Jr. That did some damage! Douglas has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Swift Jr tries to bum rush Douglas with a series of wild strikes but Douglas uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Swift Jr takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Swift Jr moves in looking to clinch but Douglas pushes him off. Douglas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Swift Jr. Swift Jr takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. A momentary lapse in concentration from Douglas enables Swift Jr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Douglas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Douglas wriggles free and stands up. Lenny Douglas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Swift Jr lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Swift Jr takes a shot right to the bread basket. No luck with that takedown attempt from Swift Jr. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lenny Douglas dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Swift Jr with a poor takedown and Douglas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jab by Douglas. Douglas lands a big uppercut and Swift Jr crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Swift Jr looks OK. Douglas waves Swift Jr back to his feet!
Swift Jr is rocked! A solid leg kick lands there for Douglas.
Oh Swift Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Swift Jr shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Douglas eats them both and turns towards Swift Jr to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Douglas drops Swift Jr with a naaaaasty hook - Swift Jr is in real trouble here! Douglas dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
