Matti Koskela told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koskela lands a big head kick that sends Malyshev tumbling to the mat! Koskela takes a step backwards and waves Malyshev back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Aleksander Malyshev has been cut.

Koskela drives through and clinches with Malyshev against the cage.
Koskela tries to circle away but Malyshev has him pinned against the cage.
Koskela lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Koskela wants to get back to striking at distance but Malyshev won't allow it.
Koskela lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Malyshev has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Koskela is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Malyshev shoots in but Koskela avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Malyshev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Malyshev seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Koskela does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hundur Jr has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Mercury smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mercury tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hundur Jr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mercury somewhat.
