A momentary lapse in concentration from Ward enables Murphy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ward manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Iggy Steve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McDonald looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Steve is looking to get back to is feet but McDonald passes into side control.

McDonald stands up and we're back to a striking position.
McDonald tries for a takedown but Steve circles away easily
and Steve counters with a series of strikes. McDonald will be more careful next time no doubt.
McDonald has his takedown stuffed
and Steve counters with a nice uppercut.
McDonald shoots in for a takedown but Steve shows good takedown defense.
Steve appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Iggy Steve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David McDonald.
Steve lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McDonald circles away quickly and effectively.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Steve shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McDonald closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
McDonald tries to land a leg kick but Steve saw it coming and moves away.
Steve half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
McDonald with a lazy takedown attempt
and Steve counters with a three punch combo that has McDonald backing up. McDonald nods at Steve to acknowledge the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McDonald is defended easily by Steve.
Steve throws a low kick but McDonald avoids it.
Steve catches McDonald with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

McDonald is rocked!
Steve misses with a head kick.
Steve tries for a takedown but McDonald sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
McDonald will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Steve is looking for a counter combo.
McDonald fails to land the takedown.
Steve keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Steve throws a quick counter kick to the body but McDonald avoids it.
Steve looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McDonald is fending him off so far but Steve persists. Nope, McDonald circles away and we're back to standing.
McDonald slaps away a takedown attempt from Steve, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Steve takes the fight into the clinch.
Steve has McDonald pressed against the cage, preventing McDonald from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Steve breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McDonald swings widly with a right hand
and Steve connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McDonald is still on wobbly legs! Can Steve finish him?

Steve dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! McDonald has had enough and taps out.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Iggy Steve!
Our winner, Iggy Steve, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Como dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tolevski. That did some damage!
Como cracks Tolevski with an open hand slap.
Tolevski dives in for a single leg takedown but Como sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Como feints and then cracks Tolevski's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tolevski down.
Tolevski takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Como scores with a leg kick.
Como with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Tolevski.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Como is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Como is trying to work for a sweep but Tolevski has mounted him!

Tolevski looking to isolate an arm here. Como doesn't see it coming and as Tolevski extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Tolevski!
