The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dirt rushes De Payen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. De Payen scores with a nice hook to the head. De Payen tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
De Payen keeps control of Dirt as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. With the fighters up against the cage, De Payen throws an elbow but misses. Dirt swings away with an uppercut that misses.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rohkea can do anything to dispel that myth. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masura moves out of range of the body kick. Masura misses with a low kick.
Gruber wants to clinch up but Masura keeps it at a distance. Masura misses with a double jab.
Masura darts in trying to clinch and Gruber makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Masura really felt that one! Masura misses with a low kick. Gruber tries to close the distance and clinch but Masura swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gruber misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's one minute gone in the round. Masura closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gruber circles away. Masura throws out a leg kick but Gruber moves out of range and Masura only half commits. Gruber throws a series of punches but Masura moves out of range. Gruber looks to clinch and Masura counters with a takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Gruber throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Gruber tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gruber tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. He's almost out here... but no, Masura gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Masura content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Masura wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gruber keeps working. Gruber wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Masura is trying to get an arm triangle but Gruber is defending well. Gruber is looking to reverse the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Masura thows a leg kick but Gruber checks it and Gruber finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Masura is breathing heavily. Masura throws a leg kick and Gruber counters with a left and a right that stings Masura. Masura tries to clinch up. Gruber misses with a straight right. Masura tries to clinch up and Gruber counters with a nice body kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hans Gruber dominated that round. The cut man is working on Aruki Masura's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Gruber tries to land a front kick but Masura steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Gruber circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Masura drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Gruber follows Masura to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sharpe throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Drake was covering up waiting for the punch and Sharpe finishes the takedown easily into guard. Sharpe missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Drake keeping moving, preventing Sharpe from controlling successfully. Sharpe looking to sit in guard and control but Drake gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Drake tries to stand but Sharpe is controlling from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Drake wants to stand and escape but instead Sharpe has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Drake kicks Sharpe off and gets to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sharpe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Drake fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Drake is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sharpe. The fighters circling - Drake throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Sharpe defending well as Drake loads up on a big left hand.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Sharpe shoots in and drives through. Drake sprawls well. A slow jab from Drake misses its intended target. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sharpe. Steve Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Sharpe. Drake misses with a straight right. Sharpe avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's six minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Sharpe shoots for a takedown but Drake saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Drake misses with a series of wild punches.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Drake throws a push kick but Sharpe slaps the foot to one side. Sharpe throws a head kick that misses. Drake connects with a single shot there.
It looks like Richard Sharpe has been cut. Sharpe is looking to clinch but Drake is avoiding it.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Drake lunges at Sharpe with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sharpe's hand. Sharpe shoots in and bounces Drake off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Sharpe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sharpe throws and elbow that misses. Drake uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sharpe's guard. Nice move by Drake! Drake being controlled here momentarily.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steve Drake. I think Drake has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
