Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aribert Heim (ranked 790 p4p, 83 weight class) and Lyman Kissell (ranked 820 p4p, 88 weight class). Lyman Kissell told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
33 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aribert Heim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lyman Kissell! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kissell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Heim sets himself, and Kissell steps forward looking for the clinch! Heim avoids it this time. The fight stays on the outside here - Kissell looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Heim shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kissell defends it nicely. Heim scores with a jab. Kissell fakes the leg kick and cracks Heim in the body. Kissell misses with a looping left. Kissell looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Kissell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Heim paws at him with a jab and circles away. Heim cracks Kissell with a right hand to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kissell throws a shot to the body.

Heim swings wildly with an uppercut but Kissell uses good head movement to avoid it. Kissell looking to slow down the pace here. Heim is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Heim has hold of Kissell's hands but Kissell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Heim slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Heim looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kissell puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Heim tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Heim is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kissell drops an elbow to the side of Heim's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heim is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ground and pound from Kissell. Kissell is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Heim tries to roll over but Kissell keeps him under control. Heim on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kissell is thwarting Heim's attempts to control the position. Kissell is nestled in close to Heim, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Heim throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy. Kissell trying to control but Heim is working from the bottom. Heim has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kissell has passed into side control.
Kissell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Heim knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Heim takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Lyman Kissell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kissell has clasped his hands together around Heim's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Heim takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Lyman Kissell is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Heim tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kissell wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Heim manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Heim working some ground and pound from close in. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Heim connects with a nice short shot to Kissell's temple. Kissell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Heim is working away from the top position though. Kissell taking some punishment here, with Heim in his half guard. Kissell tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Kissell gets full guard.

Heim got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kissell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Heim has managed to get both his arms back between Kissell's legs - danger averted. Heim connects with a couple of short punches. Heim is in close to Kissell's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kissell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. And that's the end of the fight! Lyman Kissell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kissell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. Lyman Kissell decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Murillo might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaman catches Laine with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Laine moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Shaman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Laine fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Laine defending well as Shaman loads up on a big left hand. Shaman lands the left hand. A solid leg kick lands there for Laine.
Shaman has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Laine looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Musta Laine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Laine thumps Shaman with a low kick. Laine throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Shaman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Laine has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Laine staying out of range there. Laine now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

There ya go! Shaman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Laine's guard.

The referee will try and keep them active though. Shaman goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Laine rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Shaman's guard! Nice work there by Laine! Shaman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Laine is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Shaman. Shaman defending against the ground and pound.
