Ripgut comes to the cage accompanied by Eminence front-the who. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Shane Ripgut! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Vasilli Drakov!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Francis DeMontford and Winston Howard.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Drakov dives in and grabs Ripgut's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ripgut pushes down on Drakov's head and hops out.
Drakov tries to clinch but Ripgut is having none of it.
We've been hearing reports that Ripgut has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Drakov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ripgut swats away the attempt to clinch by Drakov.
Drakov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ripgut defends well and Drakov ends up having to push Ripgut into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Shane Ripgut has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vasilli Drakov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Drakov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ripgut tries to avoid it but Drakov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ripgut to the ground. Ripgut escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Drakov shoots in for a takedown but Ripgut shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ripgut defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Drakov.
Drakov has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ripgut is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Drakov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ripgut defends well and Drakov ends up having to push Ripgut into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
As Drakov tries to get set, Ripgut tries to push him back and clinch up but Drakov manages to avoid the attempt.

Drakov is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ripgut is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Drakov to the mat. Drakov regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Drakov has his foot on Ripgut's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ripgut works his way back into a safe position though.

Drakov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ripgut gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ripgut knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Drakov on the ground.

Drakov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ripgut doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ripgut manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Drakov looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Ripgut is defending well. Drakov quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Ripgut has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Drakov celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
