The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salah scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Amur connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Amur's jab looks to have found its range, popping Salah under the eye. Salah walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Salah will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Amur scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Salah lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Amur circles away quickly and effectively. Amur defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Salah. Amur was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Amur, as that shot connected.
Salah looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Amur scores with a jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Amur lands with a right hand. He's pushed Salah's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Amur is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Amur paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Amur connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Amur thuds his right hand into Salah's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Nice defenses there by Salah. Salah wants to counter the offense by Amur and move into the clinch position. Salah takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Amur comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Salah takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Amur connects with a jab. Salah throws a right hand that Amur ducks under and follows up with a left that Amur also avoids with ease. Amur tests Salah's chin there with a solid looking shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Khai Amur dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawler shoots in and bounces Jafari off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Lawler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lawler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Lawler working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jafari's head. Lawler scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Jafari knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lawler on the ground. Lawler slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Lawler thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jafari is trying to control the position but Lawler postures up. Jafari can't keep his opponent in guard - Lawler advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Lawler is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Lawler works his foot free and advances to mount. Jafari definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Lawler lands a heavy elbow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jafari is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Lawler has taken his back.

Lawler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jafari trying to control but not successfully. Lawler is working for the choke. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva tries for a takedown but McKenzie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but McKenzie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Silva looks for a takedown but McKenzie sprawls well. Malcolm McKenzie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erick Silva. Silva feints and as McKenzie raises his hands in defense, Silva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. McKenzie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. McKenzie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Silva defends it easily. Silva is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McKenzie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silva defends well. McKenzie is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.

Silva must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. McKenzie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Silva looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Silva lands a couple of digs. McKenzie working for a triangle but Silva defends it easily.

We've been hearing good reports from McKenzie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Sweeneys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Steel defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sweeney. Sweeney shoots in but no luck this time. Steel closes the distance and pushes Sweeney back into the ropes. Steel tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

It looks like Mad Sweeney has been cut. Sweeney takes an elbow to the temple. Sweeney changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Steel fights it off and pushes away nicely.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tracz gets a double leg takedown into Somwan's guard. Tracz seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Somwan wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Tracz is now in half guard. Tracz sitting and controlling from the half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tracz wants to pass to mount but Somwan is defending the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tracz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Somwan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Somwan tries to get out of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A looping hook to the body misses from Somwan. Tracz does a little dance to reset his feet. The fighters circling - Somwan throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Tracz with the counter takedown but Somwan avoids it easily. Somwan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Somwan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tracz has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Tracz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Somwan. Tracz misses the shot to the body. Tracz takes a shot to the body in his stride.

It looks like Tracz might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. That was a close round but I would say that Chinawoot Somwan will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
