The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chistov lands a slapping body shot.
Chandler takes a body punch but keeps moving. Chistov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Chandler throws a right and a left that both miss. Chistov throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Chandler throws an off balance right hand
and Chistov counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Chistov leaves Chandler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Chistov digs a good body shot into Chandler's ribs. Chistov connects with a looping right hand.
Chandler just misses with a punch to the body.
Chandler wants to clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chandler tries a low kick but Chistov avoids it. Chistov lands a body shot.
Chistov moves into range and connects with a jab. Stanislav Chistov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chandler on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
It looks like Chris Chandler has been cut. Chistov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Chandler ducks right into an uppercut from Chistov. Chistov darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Chandler tries to clinch up but Chistov circles away and keeps his distance. Stanislav Chistov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chandler takes one to the chin there. Chandler's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Chistov connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Chandler scrambles back to his feet.

Chistov connects with a body shot that sends Chandler's belly button to the back. A jab from Chistov finds it's way through Chandler's defenses. Chandler is still on wobbly legs! Can Chistov finish him? Chistov listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Chandler misses with a two punch combination.
Chandler takes a swing at Chistov's ribcage but misses. Chandler seems to have recovered his senses. Chistov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Chandler's hands. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Chistov fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Chandler doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Chistov scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Chistov circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Chandler to the canvas! Chandler doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Chistov keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ali jabs at Dayley's body. Nice straight punches there by Ali. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ali. Dayley looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Ali lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. The fighters circle momentarily. Ali darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Ali cracks Dayley with an open hand slap.
It looks like JD Dayley has been cut. Ali cracks Dayley with a hook to the temple - Dayley is on wobbly legs here! Ali swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Dayley falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Ali wins by TKO!

A very excited looking Sarfraz Ali made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henrique swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Root counters with a thumping low kick. Henrique throws a left and a right that both miss
and Root counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The fighters are working up against the cage. Henrique manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Henrique on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Root pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Henrique shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Root defends it nicely. Root instigates a clinch. Root manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Root looking to control.
Root looking for a guillotine here but Henrique defends easily.
Henrique tries to free his leg and advance position but Root is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henrique forces his way into half guard. Root manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Henrique keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Root throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Henrique blocks it with crossed arms. Root fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Henrique wants to stall.
Henrique is fighting off a takedown attempt but Root is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Henrique to the mat. Henrique regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Root lands a couple of elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Root wants to control from the top but Henrique keeps moving. Henrique is controlling Root's posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Root tries to stand but Henrique is controlling from the bottom. Henrique trying to control the position.
Root wants to get up but he can't break Henrique's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Root wants to pass the guard but Henrique is keeping the position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. No joy there for Henrique, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Henrique throws a series of punches but Root moves out of range. Root closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Root stands up and we're back to a striking position. Henrique throws a one two combo.
Henrique throws a body kick that misses. Henrique looks winded! Henrique gets tackled into the cage by Root. Root maintains the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Root's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Henrique pivots, looking for a leg kick but Root is out of range and Henrique settles back down. Root feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Root is pushing down on Henrique's leg trying to pass to half guard. Henrique is fighting to maintain full guard but Root has managed to sneak the leg through. Root missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Henrique manages to get to full guard.

Henrique raining down shots from the mount! My spies in Cozad MMA Helsinki inform me that Henrique has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Root tries to reverse the position but Henrique maintains control. Henrique punishing his opponent with strikes. Robert Root overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Henrique looking to finish with strikes here!

Horrible takedown attempt by Khamedd or perhaps it was just good defense by Kimura, which made it look bad. Kimura stuffs the takedown. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kimura is defended easily by Khamedd. Khamedd throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. Kimura stuffs the takedown. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kimura closes the distance and clinches up with Khamedd, looking for a takedown. Kimura pushes Khamedd against the cage but Khamedd circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matsunaga connects with the punch. Johnson lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
