10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby McBarz! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice inside leg kick there by Bully. That's going to slow McBarz down. Bully tests McBarz's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Bobby McBarz has been cut. McBarz lands a glancing blow to the side of Bully's head. Bully walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Bully scores with a leg kick.
McBarz throws a poor cross that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. McBarz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

McBarz manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. This has been an exciting period of action! McBarz throws a body shot but no joy. McBarz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

McBarz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bully circles away quickly and effectively. Bully scores with a punch to the head. Bully is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. McBarz lands a nice shot to the body.

McBarz is still in real trouble! Can Bully finish him? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McBarz has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bully to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! McBarz is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bully pulls down on the head and he's put McBarz to sleep! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drysdale throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Drysdale moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Aldo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aldo wants it to stay on the feet. Aldo will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Drysdale counters with a body kick. Sloppy strikes from Drysdale. Those never looked like landing. Drysdale keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Drysdale shoots in looking for a takedown. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Aldo is trying to get back to his feet. Drysdale wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aldo keeps working.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Breznhev shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Shojo stuffs the takedown attempt from Breznhev. Breznhev gets slowly back to his feet. Breznhev fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shojo avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aleks Breznhev. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Breznhev with that takedown attempt. Breznhev goes for a double leg but Shojo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Shojo continues to drive forward. Shojo throws a hook to the side of Breznhev's head but Breznhev sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Shojo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. We've been told by Breznhev's head coaches at Blackscar Fitness that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Breznhev takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Breznhev takes one on the button. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice takedown defense from Shojo. No joy for Breznhev on that attempt. Shojo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Shojo pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Breznhev back to the cage. Shojo follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Shojo feints and then cracks Breznhev's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Breznhev down. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shojo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
