The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paulo gets tackled into the cage by Soro. Soro maintains the clinch.

Paulo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Soro gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Soro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Soriano moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Coco steps into range and cracks Soriano with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Soriano flops backwards and Coco dives into his guard looking to finish!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Soriano can do anything to dispel that myth.
Soriano is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Let's hope that Soriano has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Michael Carter decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
