Mehadah's entrance music is Sandu Ciorba - Dalibomba. A fine choice. Akira Wakabayashi has chosen Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Hashim Mehadah has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Hashim Mehadah seems to be OK! The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Mehadah tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Akira Wakabayashi defends well and Mehadah ends up having to push Akira Wakabayashi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Akira Wakabayashi moves into the clinch successfully.

Akira Wakabayashi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mehadah can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mehadah thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Akira Wakabayashi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mehadah has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Mehadah is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Mehadah thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
